I studied criminology for three years at Cardiff University, which became a big part of my personal growth. Having been around such a positive community at the university, I myself noticed personal growth both through learning how to self-learn and therefore gaining better communication skills. Having lived in Cathays for the last 2 years of my study I enjoyed the social aspect of going to the nearby pubs, in addition to the local parks which are all short walks away. The city itself was a big part of my choice to study in Cardiff, with the varied nightlife from clubs, theatric shows and concerts in the principality stadiums. Cardiff has also a lot of opportunity for students needing jobs, with a numerous amount of retail stores, small cafes and students jobs available within Cardiff University.
A big part of my student life revolved around the gym, where I would be able to relax and switch off from my studies. Talybont north and south accomodations both sit aside a gym facility, with cathays gym being only a short walk away for second and third year students. Walking was another way of relaxaition for me, walking to lectures, the gym, food shops and city walks all conveniently in proximity.
My course was as expected, with each year raising my expectations from the previous. Although the work can be challenging, it is definitely worth the sweat!
I would definitely recommend Cardiff university to a friend, as the whole experience becomes a big part of your life.
