Helpful staff, the support is amazing, the lectures are very helpful and no pressure, the university has lovely facilities. The library is fantastic as it is conveniently 24 hours.
During difficult time there is a lot of support you can get and it is very confidential.
I loved that they helped students alot when it came to understanding modules and preparing for upcoming exams. They were very ensuring that we had out personal tutors to help us along the way. However, when Covid hit and we were sent out on Placements they were many struggles and lack of communication from the Uni. I would recommend the Uni
View moreDuring my time at Bucks New University, I found the university building itself to be very clean, modern and well organised. Equipment and simulation rooms were always clean and fully functioning. Staff were always friendly, welcoming and supportive. Due to illness, I had to take a gap year from university but the staff were so helpful in getting me back on track and supporting me in my return to university and placement. The library always had computers available to use and there was an excellent range of books available to borrow. I feel I learnt so much during my years here and would recommend it to students thinking of studying here. Lectures were delivered excellently and the workload was always kept manageable by allowing students to complete all assignments before going on placement, meaning they never had to juggle both simultaneously. The only thing that I would say could be improved within the university is the means of contacting lecturers from home. Often it was difficult to get hold of them and emails would take a while to get a response. Since I lived two hours away from university it wasn’t also an option to drive there just to speak to a lecturer. Overall, the university is excellent and I would definitely consider returning if I was to ever choose to do another degree.
View moreMy thesis period fell between the Covid-19 lockdown era and gathering information became really problematic. The supervisor assigned to me was very helpful and cooperative throughout the course. He was responsive, always available, guided on every step and make the thesis fun to work on. I would recommend BNU to every friend of mine.
View moreI studied business IT, it covered aspects of both business and IT which was great and I came out with grades I wasn’t expecting in certain modules, I have great teachers and they were small classes which were good for me, wasn’t many girls on the course mainly boys but didn’t bother me. The student life as a whole gave me a preparation for life in general as an adult which was fab plus the nights out. The only issue I had was finding somewhere to live after the first year, I ended up with a bunch of girls who didn’t have the same life interests and that made it lonely as my course friends were all local. I had great support from teachers when I was going through home life difficulties so couldn’t fault them, the university had a make-over when I left so I think the facilities have improved greatly since.
View moreBuckinghamshire New University is definitely a very supportive institution. The university attracts younger aged students to a more elder range of students. I really appreciate how they cater to students who may have a more complex, busy lifestyle. Studying a BSc in adult nursing in particular, I know there is support in various aspects such as study sessions or study groups which are all part of the nursing society. This helps students if they need extra support during exams or need help with a certain topic. However, I believe as a nursing student so much negativity is shunned on student nurses and nurses. It would be nice if they can educate students on different career pathways after studying nursing. This can motivate students and let them know that nursing has so much to offer.
View moreThe study of the business world that is relevant to today and the study of data in business and marketing is interesting to me. We are encouraged to come up with marketing strategies for live client briefs which gives me real-world experience of the marketing industry.
View moreThey have good lecturers but a bit difficult because it is delivered online. I think it is better if it is on campus. I would totally recommend it. What I like the most about this course is I learned more knowledge about business and techniques that I can use after I graduate.
