From the engineering department perspective, I think the uni offers a great deal of specialised courses with tools that are sophisticated. In overall, the uni offers a lot of different student activities which can be a source of relaxation and social networking. Bristol in itself also has all the facilities need as student, whilst at the same time is not too much that it will hinder your study
