An excellent, student oriented university which takes interest in its students to the fullest and keeps in touch with them years after graduation.
I saw what it should actually feel like to actually be a grad student
View moreStudying Social Science at the University of Birmingham has been a genuinely enriching experience. The program encourages you to question everything, society, systems, and even your own assumptions, while giving you solid research and analytical skills. Lecturers are passionate and approachable, and the campus itself is vibrant and full of resources. Sometimes the workload feels intense, especially around deadlines, but the support system and academic quality make it worthwhile. Birmingham strikes a great balance between theory and real-world relevance, helping you see how what you learn connects to everyday life and global issues.
View moreMy University experience started as a gamble. It was the year the pandemic started and I was ready to study abroad, when it all almost came to a halt with cancelled exams. After several changes in where and what I wanted to study due to the unforeseen circumstances, I was sat on my flight to Birmingham, fingers crossed that the University I chose would be worth it – and it is.
The University of Birmingham has a bright, student-filled campus, with great networking opportunities with fellow students, alumni, and a wide range of graduate employers. With free workshops, trips, and other events organised by many of the departments within the university, life outside the classroom never gets boring. Within the classroom you receive a great education from people that have worked both in industry and academia for several years, with most of them always willing to help you with guidance not only regarding lectures, but also with what happens in the ‘real world’.
Of course, nothing is perfect – you have to be a proactive individual if you want to see change, which on the Birmingham campus can often be seen by student organised protests/initiatives/gatherings, but the responses the University gives regarding that makes me hopeful that sooner or later changes will take place. In many instances the staff has decided to work alongside the students to implement that change, and that means the student voice on this campus matters.
I am very glad that this is the place where I ended up, as it keeps me pushing and growing daily, with all the support I could need. Even as an international student, my years in Birmingham will always be the reason I can call this place home away from home.
The Birmingham University is very outstanding when it comes to offering good education to the students. It has a serene environment that is very comfortable for the student, they have amazing facilities. It is the best.

View moreGreat campus for studying with kind and professional staff and the campus is very well connected to the city center. There were so many people who wanted to enroll in the course that they had to queue for a new course for six months in advance. The classes were always crowded, but the professors never let anyone through. I love this uni
View moreI was overwhelmed and very excited when my admission request into the University of Birmingham was granted as it has always been a dream to be a student of this college. What stands Birmingham from every other college is its unique environment and surrounding which makes it easier for students to make progress not only academically but in other facets of life. Accompanied by this is the high quality library, research rooms, laboratories and ultra modern classrooms. Birmingham university is indeed the best place for every student to harness his/her full potential
View moreThe programme was well structured and up to date. The teachers were super supportive. Every lecturer was so conversant in their field and they provided good insights. Students were encouraged to think independently.
View moreThe campus is great, it is close to the city so easy to get to, but it feels remote. There are sports pitches, bars, and food all available on the campus.
Living at halls was a great intro to what the uni was about, being part of the football team was a highlight of the time there as well.
