This university isn’t the kindest and talks to their students very degrading. The professors and team don’t try to empathise with their students and priortise their money. They are good at teaching and the quality of education is good

I have now spent 3 years at Aston Univeristy, the first being remote, as the pandemic was still very relevant, my second year was more on campus and the prior year was in London due to my work placement.
In terms of actual studying in regards to my degree which is Accounting and Finance – I would say that the experience has been very good, the modules included gel very well with the ICAEW exemptions and in specifc the Careers in Accounting module was very helpful in getting me ready for my work placement year in a corporate setting.
The teaching staff is very kind and understanding, in sepcific, the teacher for the tax module was very informative in her manner of teaching.
In terms of bad things, I would say, that some of the tasks required to be done for the placement year, seemed quite redundant and unnecessary, specifc module teachers were not that informative.

As a student who is living on campus pre-and post Covid restrictions I have found my experience to have exceeded all expectations. The on campus accommodation was close to supermarkets and offered amazing scenery. What I found to be the biggest challenge, feeling alone, was very quickly diminished as Aston members of staff stayed interactive during online lectures and seminars and offered lots of mental health services and call ups regularly. Post restrictions I was so excited to have a dive into the many facilities. The library was a staple part of my day where I was able to use the computers and print for free. It also gave me a chance to become active again as I brought a membership to the university gym which also has a swimming pool and gave me a chance to join the Islamic society and the cricket club. The student union was a place to meet new people and bond through pool, and listen to music on the speakers and speak in the many booths. The student union offered a prayer space, a halal food court and Astons very own shop to purchase food and drink as well as a starbucks to keep me awake during the day! The main building Is so modern and offers many rooms which can be booked to study and having a person tutor was very helpful when unsure on study and non study related topics. The location of the university is perfect being only a 5 minute walk from Moor Street station and 15 from New street station. The bullring is great for shopping and exploring new cuisines and meeting other students.
