I would definitely recommend Ozyegin University since it has a great vision that provides the students to compete globally and it gives lots of opportunities according to what you want to do such as academic career or business life [...]
I came as a transfer student to communication design in Ozyegin and I have many things to say. First of all, it is not a surprise when you find your entire lesson being held in Turkish because the rest of the students can’t speak English well, most of the staff also barely speak English, and since the Turkish students don’t like to communicate with the internationals, it gets frustrating quick. Also, there are rules that are applied to the curriculum of courses you are required to take that have nothing to do with your major and also determine whether you can do internships and/or graduate. The student services barely care about your concerns and communicate with them is also difficult for example, if you try calling, they’ll hang up if it’s in English.
Although this school may have a strong curriculum for my major, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone as there are much better English taught universities in Istanbul.
As a student in this university, I guarantee you will not get the English education you paid for. Most of the instruction, especially in the architecture department is given in Turkish. Turkish students are unwilling to speak English. It is a highly discriminative. Many of us international students regret studying here and wouldn’t recommend this university to anyone.
I would definitely recommend Ozyegin University since it has a great vision that provides the students to compete globally and it gives lots of opportunities according to what you want to do such as academic career or business life.
