Koç University is widely regarded as one of Turkey’s top private universities, praised for its strong academics, international outlook, and vibrant student life in Istanbul. It consistently earns excellent reviews from students for its professors, facilities, and career opportunities.
View moreKoç University strongly encourages academic exploration, and double majors are genuinely supported. If you meet the requirements, you can pursue a double major with a wide range of departments, and the scholarship extension for one additional year makes it financially realistic to complete it properly.
The faculty is academically strong and approachable. Many professors are open to involving students in research, and if you show initiative, it’s possible to find meaningful research experience even as an undergraduate. The university also offers multiple exchange opportunities, which makes international exposure more accessible.
Beyond academics, student clubs and sports teams are active and there are many communities to join. One downside is that event planning can sometimes be inconsistent, so some activities may get canceled or face organizational issues. Overall, I would recommend Koç to students who want a challenging environment with real academic opportunities and flexibility.

I liked mostly everything about my university. It has a friendly, warm environment and a lot of opportunities. You can get one-to-one connection with professors, work and engage with them. Student communities are also my favourite.
View moreIn my department, unlike other schools, the curriculum is explained more comprehensively and I can say that this actually contributes to being a more qualified engineer than the engineers who graduated from other schools. What I do not like is that it makes the difficulty level of our exams much higher, which makes it difficult for me in general. I can not find any point where the school could improve. The campus of the school is very well designed and there are maybe more than 200 clubs that we can join, so it is extremely enjoyable both in terms of socializing and taking classes at school, eating and doing activities. The school is definitely an international university, both in terms of curriculum and students from other countries. Since the name and quality of the school are well known, I have no worries about being unemployed. Honestly, we start 1-0 ahead of the others after graduation, and that is a sign that the school instils trust in us.
