BAŞKENT UNIVERSITY THROUGH THE EYES OF A STUDENT

Education is a process consisting of a combination of different dimensions. Therefore, while examining my school, I will address the education offered to me under various headings.
Thus, you will be able to make an objective reading and evaluate my experiences from your own perspective.

Başkent University is located in Ankara, the capital of Turkey. Its name comes from here. Its main campus is in the Bağlıca district, and it has 3 other campuses.
The university, which is built on a 650-acre land, is run by 12 faculties, 1 State Conservatory, 6 vocational schools, 7 institutes and a foreign language school.
It operates in all rings of the education chain from kindergarten to doctorate degree.
In addition to its education-training activities, it has many centers for research and application in various fields.
The university, which draws attention especially with its successes in the field of health, also has many principles and awards.
The Europass Label is used in the diploma supplements given to graduates. Thus, it has taken its place in the European Higher Education Area.

It offers internship and job opportunities to its students with 36 education and health center organizations throughout Turkey. It has one of the largest university libraries

It provides 24/7 service for 1st level health service, emergency intervention and patient transfer procedures. It provides food and beverage service to approximately 8000-10,000 people from 15 points.

Student Dormitories consist of 3 blocks and consist of double, single, single and double rooms. There are special rooms for disabled students.
In addition to neighborhood shuttles, our university provides service every hour from Tunalı and Sıhiye neighborhoods. It is also an active university in art and culture events and sports activities.

It also has subsidiaries in many areas such as clothing, dairy products and hotels.

I am a graduate of the faculty of education. I am a Turkish teacher. I can generally give a high satisfaction rate about my teachers.
I did not encounter any discrimination, racism, favoritism or coercion. On the contrary, they made an effort to help us. However, we could experience minor problems in reaching some of them.
If you do not make your course selections early, you may encounter some negativities. If you have not deposited your money, you do not have a choice. I had such a problem.
I could not reach the number I needed to take because other students exceeded their quota. My advisor said he would take care of this the next term.
The feedback we gave about the courses was definitely evaluated and the necessary arrangements were made. The teachers were truly competent in their fields.
I can easily say that I received a quality education. We were active as students in most of the courses. In addition to group and individual assignments, we were evaluated in both process and result-oriented ways.
This provided a multi-faceted development. I missed the success scholarship by a very small margin. Artists from various fields would come to our school from time to time. We encountered the problem of running out of space in the hall in some meetings.
I benefited from many opportunities offered by the school. I joined some groups, but then we entered the pandemic process. And everything was moved to the virtual environment. I received a very rigorous education during this period. Even though there was a complete lockdown, our teachers were always with us in our courses.
But being on the screen all the time was depressing. Although they tried to help us by diversifying our homework, our workload was too much. We were only able to attend the festival once during my university life. I wish there were more activities that focused on students and even a system that would guarantee this.
My faculty is luckier than others in this regard, as the campus is quite green. However, unfortunately, our classes are a bit small. Our breaks are definitely insufficient. Our food is nice and clean, but we need a market. Our school has educational institutions at every level, but it does not provide any benefit to its graduates in this regard.
Under all these conditions, I can recommend my school. The abundance of opportunities offered made me forget the minor problems I experienced. It became a place that made me who I am. I hope you can go to where you will find yourself. Good luck!
