I was one of the lucky students who had a chance to study at Bosphorus campus which is by far the best university location in Turkey. During classes, students have sea sight, at breaks they can get some fresh air. On the other hand, campus buildings are in a small area that’s why students cant have access to facilities of the university. The main campus is furnished with everything. Concerning education, 10 years ago university was ranked quite low. Recently university ranking is increased due to high demand and better education content. University opened many campuses in foreign countries and its recognition surges quite much. There is the big demand from international students as more agreements go live. Incoming years I believe the school will be one of the best universities in Turkey.
Bahcesehir group is one of the main companies in Turkey for the education sector. It has many high schools. Additionally, they have established university 20 years ago. There are two campuses located in Istanbul. One location is next to Bosphorus which is at the heart of city and second one is out of the city. Social science students are the lucky ones who can study next to the sea and I was one of them. Education level is getting increased day by day and the university is providing more opportunities to their students. Especially for successful students with grants and scholarships which cant be refuted.
The school has very successful academic programs, perfect location (but very small campus) where is the center of the city, lots of events that going on. Best private school in Istanbul I’ve ever seen so far. Turkish students can speak in their own language even though the lessons are english, that can be a little annoying situation for international students but im ok with that to be honest
If you are an exchange student, Bahcesehir University would be a right choice. They have too many international students and the majority of the courses are in English. You can take interesting courses like the digital game design. Also, they have the only virtual reality lab in Turkey. The location of campuses are perfect, that’s why they call the university in the heart of Istanbul. But the festivals and events can be improved. Maybe BAU can support the student clubs more.
