The university has a modern base and you can find anything on campus (cafes, library, cafeteria, fitness). The teachers are very open-minded and care a lot about the students. The program is for people who are interested in social and world issues but also want to work on personal development. There is a lot of freedom with choosing what you want to do for your assignments.

Finding Global Project and Change Management was a gift for me. After searching for study programmes related to sustainability, I was so happy to encounter this. I gained a first insight into GPCM by joining as a student for a day. After this, I was convinced that this study is truly unique. I never experienced such a thoughtful, and motivated community that is so commited to make a change in the world. The programme prepares us to be impactful changemakers that have a broad perspective of the whole system and themselves. It is so nice to also get space to develop not only professionally but also personally. Overall, it is truly inspiring to see oneself and others become more independent, skilled and commited throughout the years. Global Project and Change Management is an English programme offered at Windesheim UAS which prepares future change-makers. The hands-on approach at Windesheim and the projects with real-life clients have equipped me with project management, research and collaborative skills that will make me a valuable asset to the sustainability work field. Furthermore, there is a lot of freedom to design your own learning by choosing to focus on topics and skills that are important to you. Additionally, the lecturers are very knowledgeable and experienced professionals, who help you learn and make you challenge your beliefs and paradigms. There is a strong community feeling in our study and you can easily feel at home. GPCM is a unique experience that will help you grow and develop many soft skills that employers are looking for.

Global Project and Change Management (GPCM for short) is a lot different then your typical Dutch study program. For starters, it is a honors program, which means that the workload can be very high if you do not plan your assignments carefully. On the flip side, GPCM works almost exclusively with (practical) assignments, meaning that there is little to no studying in the sense of learning a book top to bottom and writing all that knowledge on a test paper.

The other thing is that the study is very small. A maximum of 80 people are being let in every year. While this does sound like it is impossible to get in, in reality it is a lot easier. If you do the entrance assignments correctly, you are almost guaranteed a spot. This limit also makes the study more so an active community then just a place where you can get your diploma. Each student get’s assigned a student coach who is like a personal guide to your study, and is always open to help. The teachers are similair in the fact that they are also (mostly) available to help you out. The study does it’s best to foster that community trough study wide activities (organized by the students, staff or both).

The fact that a study that is so broad in topics can find a group of teachers that are not only experts in the field but feel like a cohesive unit is also a miracle.

However, not everything is sunshine and rainbows. The fact that this study is so community based brings the fact that if you don’t fit in with the community, you are not going to have a fun time at the study. It is one of the biggest reasons people leave the study early. If I would have to simply describe the community it would be: Left, (highly) spiritual, vegan and woke. If you don’t feel yourself connected with these four words, I believe you should reconsider if you want to try this study out.

These four words extent in some capacity to the teachers. I’ve had had a lesson that included: “increasing your intuition by strengthening your third eye.” This is considered a normal part of the curriculum along side the theoretical part of the course.

Again, if you feel connected to this community I will strongly recommend this study. You get a lot of real world experience, different subjects based on all facets of project management, multiple opportunities to work on personal growth and are encouraged to travel abroad to learn. But if you feel you do not fit in with the community, I will advice you to look a bit further or question if you feel it is worth putting up with it to get this type of education.

As you can probably understand through my review. I do not feel part of the community. I am part of the few that did not leave because of it, as I saw enough value in the study to continue. This is the reason why the reviews are overly positive. If you are part of the community, it is great. If you aren’t, it isn’t. It is also the reason why I am putting this review on anonymous, as I can not allow myself to alienate myself further from the group without suffering loneliness on campus and lose my chances at finding group partners for assignments.

I have never regretted my decision, I haven’t even questioned it. GPCM program is something unique. And when I go back home and I tell about my experiences, people around me are amazed and don’t believe a program like this exists. At the GPCM program we value practical knowledge, we learn the most important skills in the future, like critical thinking and understanding, as well as problem solving and resilience. I have changed so much within three years and all because of the program, people I have met and challenges I have faced.

If you are still thinking about it, just don’t. Apply and join the community!

Studying Global Project and Change Management at Windesheim has been a life-changing experience for me.

What I appreciate the most is the community we have – since it’s a small-scale program, we all know each other, no matter which year you are in, both students and lecturers. There is incredible support and always someone to talk to. The lecturers and student counsellors are always available, providing support and guidance. The study, as well as the entire university, seeks feedback from students for constant improvement, to adapt to their current needs and get some new ideas. For example, there is a student council.

The lecturers come from different backgrounds and are very knowledgeable and understanding. Theory is nicely balanced with practical applications, real-life projects and clients, the opportunity to build networks, and there is usually a space for personalization. As we are all unique individuals, there are opportunities to make the learnings as relevant for you as possible, choosing different focus areas in assignments.

There is a great emphasis on soft skills, people skills, and personal development. Finding out who you want to be as a person in today’s world, what qualities you want to develop, what change you wish to bring to the world, and what your passion is. I have learned so much about myself thanks to this program and I believe everyone should be encouraged to spend some hours on their personal development, with some guidance.

The modern campus has everything necessary for a student, and the city – Zwolle – is a beautiful place to live. It’s not too big and not too small, and located just close enough to other bigger cities. It is also a very safe city.

I will always be grateful for the education and support I have received during my study at Windesheim, and I know I am now equipped both personally and professionally for my future career and life.

I am right now in my third year of “Global Project and Change Management”, one of two international studies at Windesheim. I have had only good experiences within my study pogram but also with the university itself. The lecturers are knowledgeable and always friendly and it is a really comfortable, down to earth and also intimate learning environment. At the same time the educational level is really high and I am learning a lot of hard but also soft skills. The facilitations of Windesheim are great, with a gym with a really affordable student subscription, a bike repair shop, a library and a supermarket. It is close to a forest which is amazing for a break in between and also only 10 minutes by bike from the city centre.

My experience studying Global Project and Change Management exceeded all my expectations! This study program prepares you for the current challenges of constant crises and educates you not only in skills but also cares about the person behind the skills. They don’t only want you to become a agent for change, but see that you can only be as good if you know your strengths and do what you love which is why they dedicade big parts of the curriculum to giving you time to find out what these things are. Everytime I am talking to my friends in my hometown they always say that they are not used to that someone actually likes what they’re studying. Usually people study as a means to an end. But GPCM is all about the journey that gets you to where you want to be, even if you don’t know yet what this is going to be. What makes this study so special is the emphasis they put on the community. This is not a normal study, but something that changes you for life. I am incredibly greatful to have found this study.

I am having a great time at Windesheim, specifically in the unique program I’m studying. – Global Project and Change Management. It truly is everything that the description says it is, a personal growth journey, amazing community feeling, great student-staff relationships and real experiences, both professional and personal. Windesheim has a campus with everything that I need and I met so many different people, as the students and lecturers come from many different places.
