My experience at TU had academic and social benefits. I was in an all inclusive class of students from low and medium countries from Africa, Asia, and South America. I learnt and appreciated different cultures through organized cultural exchanges and days

The program of geoinformation science equipped me with professional knowledge and skills which I apply up to date. The lectures and tutors provided student-centered lessons covering principles and practical lessons. I am always in contact with my former colleagues through our alumni emails and portal and I continue professional consultations as well as social exchanges about our current environments.

The university continue contributing to GIS and Remote Sensing skills development to students from developing countries hence contributing to socioeconomic development of these countries.

The school has a very large and beautiful campus. The surrounding environment is quite clean and peaceful. There are many outdoor activities with various sports and good facilities. The curriculum is interesting but relatively difficult and involves a lot of assignments.

The MSc in Electrical Engineering at the University of Twente offers a highly flexible and research-oriented learning experience that allows students to shape their own academic path based on their interests. The programme covers a wide range of modern electrical engineering fields such as electronics, power systems, semiconductor technology, communication networks, and embedded systems, making it both broad and future-focused.

What stands out most is the freedom to specialize deeply while still having the option to combine different areas of study. This makes the programme especially valuable for students who want to explore advanced topics like integrated circuits, power electronics, or biomedical applications. The strong emphasis on research, combined with an international learning environment and close links to industry, helps students develop both technical depth and practical problem-solving skills.

Overall, it feels like a well-balanced master’s programme that not only strengthens core electrical engineering knowledge but also prepares students for innovation-driven careers in academia, research, and high-tech industries.

I would say the university life at Twente is hard and busy. I struggled and cried a lot, but I developed a lot as a person and as an academic researcher.
I would say, if you go to this university as an international student (coloured race), be bold and prepared enough.
