I would say the university life at Twente is hard and busy. I struggled and cried a lot, but I developed a lot as a person and as an academic researcher.
I would say, if you go to this university as an international student (coloured race), be bold and prepared enough.
I studied at the Faculty of Geoinformation Science and Earth Observation (ITC) at the University of Twente. It is a very multi-cultural faculty and opportunity to interact with other students from varied background. Curriculum is progressive with latest developments in research and industry. The education system is very open to feedbacks from students n how to improve quality of education and overall student well-being. I do recommend the university
View moreThe University of Twente is very supportive to its students. I completed a master’s programme in public administration and enjoyed every bit of the course. The courses for this programme truly aligned with the subject. I also got a lot of support from the school when I took ill while doing the programme. I didn’t expect that level of support as an international student. I will recommend the school if you want a school with modern equipment, high-level courses, and supportive staff members.
View moreResearch studies at the University of Twente have been a rewarding experience. The university provides a good supportive environment for both courses and research. I particularly appreciated the international environment – it was easy to associate with people of diverse cultures, which enriched my educational and personal life.
The features are modern, and the complex is beautifully green and open, which creates a pleasant atmosphere to work and relax. The professors were acceptable and ready to provide guidance, especially during my thesis.
A region where the university may improve, the course is in the stability of the organization; sometimes the information comes quite late or the schedule shifts unexpectedly. But overall, the university encourages independent thinking and innovation, and I would definitely recommend any person interested in research-oriented programs or in search of an international study environment in the Netherlands.
View moreI believe that the University offers high-quality education, lots of academic support, and is full of international students from all over the world who are very friendly. The campus is big and has everything a student needs such as a supermarket and sports facilities. Many students live on campus and that is very convenient. There are also plenty of opportunities for personal and professional growth as there are so many study, sports, and culture associations that students could join as well as courses that the UT language center offers such as Dutch courses. Moreover, I like that the university puts a strong emphasis on learning through doing, as students participate in a project every module which I believe is a very practical way of applying knowledge and skills into practice to learn more effectively. However, if you don’t organize your time effectively and consistently put many hours into self-studying, it could get too overwhelming as things keep adding over time and some programmes are very fast-paced. In my opinion, I would definitely recommend this university for someone who would like to live in a small city with lots of international students, can manage their time effectively, and is passionate about the study programme that they are going to join.
