Effective but brutish

Classes are very large, and assignments are very classically styled. The degree is only 3 years which is better than most other universities. Professors are often unreachable by email, and the board of examiners can be slow to respond to requests, but you do come out the end knowing physics.

Can you elaborate a bit on the academic part? What is roughly the size of classes in the 1st / 2nd year? Are you happy with the teaching quality? Are topics well explained by the lecturers? Are you provided with enough practical engagements? Do you see enough opportunities to start being engaged at entry level research in your upcoming 3rd year (in one of the institutes)?
