I would strongly advise against studying at THUAS if you are motivated to learn and explore. I was so motivated to learn and to even have practical experience since it is a “Hogeschool”, so therefore its more practical and not academic. In my course Industrial Design Engineering not only that we had zero academic knowledge offered, we also didn’t learn anything on the practical side. I can now confidently say, that I did not learn anything in this University and I am immensely disappointed from the program and the waste of time it was, for the years in which I am most motivated to learn and develop. The “Engineering” part of the course name can be completely removed, I would be ashamed to call myself an engineer with the degree from this University. I thought I knew the difference between “Hogeschool” and a “University”, but turns out it is way worse than I thought. I do appreciate the friendships I’ve made the individual attention from the teachers, there are always positive sides, but after all I went here to study. And I did not get this opportunity. It is simply not given to you. Yes, it is up to you to open a book and study, but still you are not even given the basics. The “education” is under any critic. I would much more advise you if you are passionate about this course and you really want to learn something, do it in a technical University in the Netherlands. You will get so much more out of it. Take a note from my mistake and save yourself these 3 years to actually grow and follow the course you are passionate about in a University that will help you embrace this passion and thirst for new knowledge.
