A functionalistic approach on Engineering

Studies at TU Delft are strongly based on self initiative. On the one side, this is good as it promotes initiative and action. On the other hand, a deep scientific understanding of the subject is most of the times redundant. Given the exhausting workloads, there is usually no time or motivation for a deeper iteration on knowledge.

Strong points:
-Great value in the job market
-Helpful and friendly staff
-Great infrastructures
-Promotes self initiative
-In the end, job will get done

Weak points:
-A functionalistic approach of knowledge. Results are based on experiments and often a theoretical base of them is neglected.
-Too biased towards technical excitement. Leaves no space for students’ sentimental consciousness development.
-Heavy workloads
-Awful food
