Commonly abbreviated to HSG, which comes from the institution’s old German name; Handels-Hochschule St. Gallen, what is today known as the University of St. Gallen is one of Switzerland’s and indeed Europe’s top institutions of business education. It is known in German as Universität St. Gallen, and also places a special emphasis on research.Show more
It is the most prestigious business school in German-speaking Europe. In reality, St Gallen is most likely the university where prominent banks, consultancies, and multinationals actively recruit for their DACH operations.
Apart from business, only economics, international relations/public administration, and law are taught there, which is why it was not previously referred to as a university, despite the fact that everything taught there is university-level. As a result, there will be no liberal arts or engineering schools, limiting your range of interactions and making it a primarily male institution. The closest actual university towns are Zurich and Konstanz, both of which have busier student populations than St. Gallen. On the other side, you’re in close proximity to several great ski resorts and really gorgeous surroundings
