When I got accepted at EHL, I thought I would attend school, sit in class, and go on with my day. I was pleasantly surprised to find myself in a diverse community of people who genuinely care for one another and take the time to get to know each other. This driven student body inspired me to participate in numerous initiatives, as I felt motivated in this supportive environment. From company visits to joining a student committee, I was and still am impressed by all of the opportunities EHL has to offer beyond the classroom. While the strong academic education is at the core, I am truly grateful to support and participate in EHL activities such as representing the school at Harvard for a 3 week course as part of a collaboration. All things considered, EHL is not just a simple university experience but a journey from the classroom to the world through adaptability, independence and openness.

EHL as an institution offers an excellent learning environment, where it not only allows the student to gain various hard and soft skills and grow as a person. When discussing with former students, it is possible to see a vast difference in maturity compared to other university students. Taking the words of the university slogan, EHL is a business school that teaches discipline.

As the bachelor programmes emphasize the importance of practical experience, students learn about the hospitality industry as a whole. Within the preparatory year, students rotate around the various outlets within the campus, from working at the school cafeteria to cleaning the dorms. The professors are industry insiders with a great understanding of hospitality with state-of-the-art facilities. Although physically arduous, students learn how to work within a dynamic environment that offers a learning process like no other school.

Furthermore, the university offers excellent career prospects with the two long-term internships integrated into its programme. In a sense, the school’s beauty lies in that students acquire skills that can be transferred to other industries. More than half of the students end up working outside of hospitality. In this manner, students are not chained down to one specific path and can always change.

As for student life, it is very easy to get active with the variety of extra-curricular programmes on offer. With a multitude of nationalities that are represented, the school has a diverse student body, and it will be possible to meet people from across the world.

Although I have had a very positive experience, it is certainly not a school for everyone. As EHL offers a specific learning environment, students get a unique university experience. With only one bachelor programme on offer, everyone will know each other by the end of their studies. With such a small student body, it almost feels like an extension of high school at times. Moreover, with the school being located on the outskirts of Lausanne, there is not much interaction with other university students. In a certain manner, EHL students are in a bubble.

However, I would still recommend that any students consider EHL as it offers a way of thinking that no other universities can offer. By the end of their studies, students will rapidly integrate into society and become part of a valuable alumni network.

Born and raised in Mexico, I have always been drawn to studying hospitality; however, I had always thought I would pursue this field back home. Before joining, I had the chance to attend the EHL Junior Academy, which confirmed my passion for the industry, but changed what I thought I wanted. The way I felt on campus, surrounded by the people and teachers, made me feel like I belonged, like home. From that experience, I knew EHL was where I wanted to build my future.

The AP program was an exciting start. Everything was new, and meeting people from around the world was surprisingly easy. I made friends who quickly became like family. My favorite workshops were the Fine Dining Service and Pastry, especially because we had the opportunity to participate in the Michelin Star event, which was an unforgettable experience.

For my first internship, I traveled to Galicia and worked as a Guest Experience Assistant, which provided me with valuable insights into guest relations and service quality. During BOSC 1, 2, and 3, my favorite subject was Foundations of Hospitality Marketing, and I became involved in the Basketball Committee, the Knowledge and Improvement Committee, and the Coaching Department. I’m also proud to serve as a Student Ambassador since then. All these opportunities are truly unique to EHL and have helped me develop my professional skills, preparing me for my future while also allowing me to enjoy my student life.

For my second internship, I rotated between the Events and Finance departments, as it was an administrative role at a resort in Kenya. I had the opportunity to learn more about the hotel industry and decide what I want for my future, while also traveling. Now, in BOSC 5, my favorite subject is Corporate Strategy, where we are learning about real-life scenarios and dealing with external stakeholders. Moreover, I am currently the NEP Student Lead, a role that has been both challenging and rewarding in helping students adapt to different learning needs. I also continue with my previous roles, which is great to give continuity to what I was focusing on before.

EHL has been much more than an education; it’s been a journey of personal growth, lifelong friendships, and endless opportunities. My advice to future students is to get involved, stay curious, and make the most of every moment and opportunity.

I am currently in my last year of studies at EHL Hospitality Business School pursuing a Bachelor in International Hospitality Management.
EHL has helped me grow in countless ways through various opportunities. I was very introverted and kept to myself when I first joined EHL as it was difficult for me to approach new people and begin a conversation. At EHL, the team bonding and team building exercises that encouraged students to meet outside the academic environment, really encouraged me to feel more seen and comfortable. Furthermore, EHL hosts a variety of events on campus all year round where we can interact with companies and brand, their CEOs and executives creating for a great networking and learning opportunity. LVMH, Cartier, Goldman Sachs are just a few companies that EHL partners with. There is something for everyone irrespective of the field they want to pursue after university.
This allowed me to learn how to present myself confidently and talk to such experienced and senior executives making and building strong connections. The two internships at EHL is something that really enhanced my entire college experience and is so unique to EHL. Being able to spend 6 months in any country twice during your bachelor program is an unmatched feeling. I did my first internship in Dubai and the second one in Paris and I truly feel that the exposure one gets not just from the work experience but also culturally is essential in developing ones character.
Overall, I have really enjoyed EHL so far. The support and opportunities it provides its students are really something to take advantage of and be grateful for.

We all joined EHL with a clear thought in mind: “This must pay off, I will be the best in the industry after studying at EHL.” These expectations naturally put a lot of pressure on us as students, and on the institution itself. What if it wouldn’t deliver what we hoped for? As my journey began, those expectations intensified. I became impatient and ungrateful for what I was experiencing every day. But the program proved me wrong. EHL teaches patience, trust, and gratitude through daily routines and challenges. During the Preparatory Year level, I learned to appreciate even the simplest things, like early mornings or a good 8-hour night’s sleep. Then came BOSC, and that’s when my true rollercoaster began. I wanted to do everything, be part of every program, driven by high expectations for myself rather than genuine interest. Facing rejections and moments of exclusion shaped me deeply. I realized that this program doesn’t just prepare you for a career, it prepares you for life. Now, in BOSC 3, I’m proud to serve as the President of one of the Committees in the Student Life and to have represented EHL at Harvard University in Boston. These experiences have been incredibly rewarding and have shown me the true value of perseverance and trust in the process. EHL is a journey of “High Expectations, High Rewards.” Everyone’s path is unique, but if you trust yourself and the program, it will adapt to your needs. It’s inclusive, understanding, and truly student-oriented, offering an education that goes far beyond academics.

The program emerges you into a work-based environment from the first six months on. The main aim of our university is to give us all the tools we need in order to thrive in the industry we chose in the future. Being surrounded by 90 different nationalities not only gives us a sense of cultural sensitivity but also teaches us many communications skills with different cultures. The program mainly focuses its evaluations built around group projects, which allows young students like myself to voice their opinion. EHL strongly defends its values throughout the four years of studies; Family, Innovation, Excellence, Learning and Respect.

My experience at EHL Hospitality Business School has been highly enriching and inspiring. From finance classes to marketing courses, every subject truly feels like a distinct journey, offering its own perspective, challenges, and growth opportunities. The diversity of teaching styles and real-world applications makes learning both engaging and meaningful.
Beyond academics, what really sets EHL apart is its strong sense of community. EHL feels like a big family, where students, professors, and staff work together to create a supportive and motivating environment. It is genuinely a pleasant university to study at, both academically and personally.
The involvement opportunities are also remarkable. From the numerous committees to the impressive number of events organized throughout the year, there is always something happening that allows students to connect, learn, and develop skills outside the classroom. These experiences make student life dynamic, fulfilling, and memorable.
Overall, EHL Hospitality Business School offers much more than an education: it provides a unique journey that combines excellence, community, and personal development.

As a current BOSC 3 student at EHL, I can confidently say that choosing this school has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. Before joining, I used to think I was terrible at math, because during highschool I was engaged in a program that focused towards humanistic subjects. However, it is with gratitude to the incredible guidance of the professors, the financial modules including Financial Accounting, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Mathematics, Excel, and Statistics have become my favorite subjects. The courses are structured in such a way that even though I didn’t study much math or computer science in school, by attending classes regularly and completing the home assignments, I was able to fully understand the concepts and achieve high grades, without needing private tutoring.

What I appreciate most is how approachable the professors are. Whenever I had an uncertainty regarding a subject, they were always willing to answer emails or take the time to explain individually after class until everyone understood. This personalized support has made a huge difference in my learning journey.

Beyond academics, EHL provides many opportunities for personal growth. I joined the Ambassador Program, which allowed me to put into practice the communication skills I learned throughout my AP experience and BOSC courses. Being part of committees has been just as enriching they work like mini businesses run by students, where I learned teamwork, event management, and problem-solving skills. Therefore, I had the chance to put into practice the theory learned in class, alongside the people who became my best friends.

All in all, EHL has helped me strengthen both my academic knowledge and my social skills, shaping me into the person I am today.

My experience so far as a second-year student at EHL has been amazing and unforgettable. I decided to continue my studies at EHL after high school because I saw it as a university with immense potential for developing my skills for the future. When I was exploring bachelor’s options, I initially considered business management. However, I realised that simply focusing on business wasn’t enough for me. As someone who thrives on interaction and genuinely enjoys enhancing others’ experiences, I knew I needed more than just business. That’s when I discovered EHL and the Bachelor’s in International Hospitality Management. It perfectly blended the business administration courses I was interested in with the people-oriented approach of hospitality, along with the valuable soft skills it helps develop.

One of the key aspects I considered when choosing a university was finding a place whose values aligned with my own and offered the kind of education I was looking for. What truly stood out to me about EHL was its sense of community and family, which is something I greatly value in a university.

Moreover, EHL offers incredible opportunities beyond just academics. This includes the internship opportunities integrated into the bachelor’s program, allowing us to work with renowned hotel chains and brands thanks to EHL’s career fairs. Additionally, there are roles as student assistants, involvement in committees, and the student ambassador program, all of which enrich the overall experience. Now talking a bit about my personal journey: during my first internship, I had the incredible opportunity to work at the Four Seasons Hotel Madrid as a Guest Experience Intern. It was an amazing learning experience where I applied my skills in a real-world setting and grew significantly both personally and professionally, which I deeply appreciate.

Now that I’m back on campus, I’m actively involved in a committee where I hold the role of marketing and audiovisuals, an area I’m passionate about and eager to develop further. Additionally, I also serve as a student ambassador, which allows me to collaborate with the school and become more engaged within the EHL community.

Another aspect that stood out to me is the structure of the bachelor’s program, starting with the AP (preparatory year). This hands-on experience is invaluable, especially for someone like me who learns by doing. It’s rare to find such immersive exposure to the hospitality industry, rotating through various hotel departments during the first six months, which then prepares you for the following internship in operations.

Finally, as you continue with your studies after the internship, you delve into a variety of subjects, including finance, business, economics, and more. These topics are crucial for developing your skills and preparing you for a successful future in the industry. Another aspect I truly appreciate about EHL is the small class sizes. This allows for personalized teaching, where professors can get to know each student individually and provide tailored support. This environment encourages open communication, making it easy to ask questions and receive detailed explanations.

I chose EHL because I wanted more than a traditional business degree. I wanted to understand how operations, leadership, and human behavior come together in real environments.
One of the most formative experiences for me was the first-year operations weeks. They were intense and sometimes exhausting, but they taught me discipline, attention to detail, and how to stay composed under pressure. You quickly realize that hospitality is built on teamwork and consistency, not just creativity.
The diversity at EHL has also shaped me in unexpected ways. Working with classmates from over 100 nationalities is inspiring, but it also challenges you. You learn to navigate different communication styles and expectations, which prepares you for global teams far better than theory alone.
Balancing academics with leadership roles, especially as Vice President of Sustainability, was not always easy. There were moments of stress and self-doubt. But the support from faculty and the structure around career guidance made a real difference. From CV workshops to interview preparation, I felt equipped rather than overwhelmed when applying for internships.
What makes EHL distinctive, in my experience, is the ambition of the people around you. You are constantly surrounded by individuals who want to build, lead, and innovate. That environment pushes you to grow.
My advice to future students is to take initiative early. The more you engage, the more you gain. EHL challenges you, but it also shapes you in ways that go beyond the classroom.
