My experience at the University of Gothenburg was both academically enriching and personally transformative. I conducted my Master’s thesis , where I had the opportunity to work in a highly supportive and well equipped research environment.
The university provides excellent laboratory facilities, particularly for environmental chemistry and contamination research, and promotes a strong culture of scientific independence and critical thinking. My supervisors were knowledgeable, approachable, and encouraged me to develop both my analytical and experimental skills.
What I particularly liked was the interdisciplinary atmosphere collaboration between departments and international students was highly encouraged. The campus environment in Gothenburg is peaceful, green, and ideal for focused research work.
If there’s one challenge, it would be that the weather can be quite cold during winter, which takes some adjustment. However, the overall experience, academically and culturally was outstanding.
I would highly recommend the University of Gothenburg to anyone interested in environmental science and contaminant transport research. It’s a place where curiosity, sustainability, and scientific rigor truly meet.
