I graduated in Aerospace Engineering at the Higher Technical School of Engineers of the University of Seville (ETSI), and I must say that it was one of the most disappointing and demotivating experiences I have had in my life. Although the teachers are, without a doubt, experts in their respective fields, they totally lack vocation as teachers as well as empathy and a minimum of humanity. Far from worrying about teaching his subject well, it seems that his only objective is to fail as many students as possible. It is not uncommon to reach the 5th call for many subjects. In addition, the presentations and notes have been the same for years, not to mention how poorly structured they are. Your only way to learn something is to spend the money in private academies or with the notes of other students in Wuolah.
In addition, the frequent failures and condescending attitude of the teachers instilled feelings of inadequacy and inferiority in many students. Lack of respect and insults are more than common in many teachers. During my years there I had to listen to how they told me “I didn’t know how to think” or “they doubted that I had even finished high school”.
Definitely the only good thing about this university is the city it is in. Seville is an incredible city, which anyone who has visited will love from minute 0.
The location of the university was also problematic, as it was located in an isolated area with limited access to services such as bars and shops. On the plus side, Seville is a charming city with friendly and hospitable residents, delightful weather, and affordable social establishments. In general, Seville is a comfortable place to reside, despite the unfortunate experiences I had during my stay at the university.
