Opinions about this university will depend a lot on the degree you study and the faculty you are in. I study the degree in Translation at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters and I am very happy with the work of the teachers, since they are very close and have great knowledge of the subject both for the academic and work world. However, in terms of facilities, the humanities faculty is very small for all the degrees it offers and we have to always be changing classrooms depending on the class we have, we barely step foot in our faculty. There is a cafeteria in all the faculties, conference rooms, a cultural container where they hold workshops and concerts… It is very complete.
On the other hand, the University offers many workshops, talks and activities to carry out and expand your knowledge as well as to open you up to the world of work.
The people you meet are super nice and open and the most normal thing is that you go out with many friends that you have met in class, already doing some work or homework or having breakfast!
I’m an exchange student at Malaga University, and my experience has been okay, but not perfect. The Philosophy building is currently under construction, so we don’t have a coffee shop or a classroom inside the building. There’s another small building outside where we take our classes.
Besides, the fee is quite expensive for the quality of most of the classes. Some of the teachers are kind and quite professional, nevertheless, some are rude and their classes are mediocre.
On the bright side, the classrooms are spacious and have great tech equipment where we can see the teacher’s slides.
I would recommend it if you have enough money to pay for it, perhaps other department’s classes are more interesting.
In general it is a good place to study for the academics. There are a lot of degrees and a variety of specialties, but not so much for masters.
The administration should improve, there usually are many failures and access problems, especially for Erasmus students and people who do Double Degrees or Double Masters.
It is a good place to study, taking into account the easy communication, you can get to the campus with buses and the subway, but what encourages students to come is the weather and the university life in the end is what one remembers most.
