It’s a good univertisy with good reputation. I studied Medicine with good results. After 4 years you hace to choose a universitary hospital to finish the last two years.
You must know that it is en Catalonia, and some classes are done in catalan language!

The university has a high academic level with professors specializing in their area and publishing scientific works. The campus has various research centers and laboratories with relevant ongoing research, which gives alumni a variety of opportunities to get acquainted with the scientific method and up-to-date education. The campus has various faculties, and the spacious and close-to-nature facilities, libraries, and study spaces make it enjoyable for student life.

The UAB is sold as a campus of excellence, but the truth is that in certain courses such as environmental sciences and other science courses (as far as I know) they carry out activities with a cost that is not included in the registration fee and students are not notified until already in the course. There are students who may have financial difficulties and it is unfair that they can fail a course for something like this (which also has financial consequences).
The university campus is very nice, it is very green and there is a great atmosphere. The UAB has many activities and clubs: castles, rugby, assemblies, vegan groups, choir, musicians, etc. It is a very good campus to go to study.

Considering how important health is, I personally find many faults in the way the contents are taught. If you have a global opinion about medicine at UAB, you should consider it’s actually a great place, with many teachers who are brilliant at their specialiality and can provide you with their knowlage.
However, I find most important that not only do they teach us the clinical view of health and how to preserve it, but they go further. Finding out how to diagnose a weird disease is important, but we should prepare health professionals to know how to treat patients with respect and with empacy.
More practice and less concepts should be the way to teach things in order to improve a system which only teaches us to treat them as a sum of diseases to treat.
I must highlight the importance of the UAB having four different hospitals to choose from, which gives you the possibility to explore your options depending on your personal opinions or distance.

Sadly, I didn’t have a good experience at the university. Maybe it was because of the master I was in (Neurosciences)… I don’t know, but the teachers were just the worst. Whenever I participated, They looked at me as if I made a terrible mistake, they judged me and I never had the opportunity to know why did I do so wrong in the test and homework if they weren’t even able to answer common questions about the basic theory. The topics were also shallow or super biased because the teachers were the only ones who had the final world (even if what they said was knowledge reevaluated since 2008). Also, when I made second revisions in my tests they tried to put my arguments down with stupid excuses such as the verb tenses and so on. I will never ever in my life get enrolled in this university again. I lost my money, I felt disrespected, I didn’t learn, and I didn’t have a word (an opinion). I was simply treated like garbage… Also, It seemed as if my teachers felt the pleasure of others suffering. So sad.
