What is a Management degree?

A Management degree builds a strong foundation in a wide variety of fields including business, finance, economics and marketing. It develops students’ understanding of business practices, structures, business theory, business strategy and research as well as global economies and financial markets. Doing a Management Degree also allows students to gain skills that enable them to work with financial and numerical data effectively.

Management degrees cover different managerial roles, such as Human Resource (HR) management, hospitality management, innovation management, operations management, etc. They can be specialized into one of the areas mentioned above or follow a more general approach that covers most of these areas.

The range of management degrees is huge and includes Business Management, Management, Marketing Management, etc. They are predominantly offered in the business departments/business schools/management schools of different universities.

Benefits of a Management degree

One of the main benefits of this degree is that Management is a broad discipline, which keeps students’ career options open.

Management degrees could have a very practical focus, which is an opportunity for students to gain experience in the process of completing their degree before having started their professional careers. Management courses usually offer work placements and practical modules, which include business simulations and business creation in a simulated environment. Acquiring practical experience through these opportunities could make students stand out from the crowd in the job market once they graduate. Research-oriented Management degrees also exist for those who prefer the theoretical aspects of such a degree. Most courses, however, have established a good balance between theory and practice in order to meet the needs of all students.

Management degrees also prepare students to serve the managerial role across a wide range of areas, including HR management, hospitality management, innovation management, operations management, etc. Students can specialize in one particular area or focus on gaining knowledge across all of these areas thanks to the high availability of different management courses.

Additionally, there is a high demand for management professionals in the contemporary business world. Therefore, taking a management course is an opportunity for students to kick-start their careers and occupy a higher position in the organizational hierarchy.

management degree Structure

Management courses usually begin by introducing students to different areas covered by the managerial role, such as organizational management, business environment, statistics, accounting and finance, business growth, etc. After the first year, institutions allow students to explore the management discipline into more depth by delivering specialized modules and offering optional modules, which enable students to choose subjects that interest them the most and are most relevant to their career aspirations.

Management degrees take 3 years to complete in the UK. However, their duration could extend to 4 years if students choose to spend a year in industry between their second and third year, which is a popular option among the student community. Paris for a week with Istituto Marangoni

I did my Master’s in Fashion and Luxury Marketing and Communication at ESIC, and overall, it was a great experience. I really enjoyed it and left feeling happy with everything I learned.

One of the highlights for me was the opportunity to go to Paris for a week with Istituto Marangoni — that experience was amazing and really brought the luxury industry to life. It was thanks to one of my professors, and I’ll always be grateful for that.

The facilities at ESIC are excellent, and most of the professors have impressive backgrounds and are truly passionate about what they teach. That made the classes much more inspiring.

If I had to mention a few things that could improve: sometimes it was hard to get quick responses from tutors, and I think the program could benefit from being more practical. I would’ve loved to see more real-life case studies, company visits, and events that help students from different programs connect with each other.

But overall, I had a really good time, learned a lot, and met great people. If you’re interested in fashion, luxury, and communication, this master’s is a solid choice — just go in knowing that it’s what you make of it.

    Poor internal organization.

Good job opportunities but poor internal organization.

The content of the subjects can be improved, the teaching staff is very diverse (some very good and others with no teaching skills).

Attendance is mandatory and there is too much group work.

Esic university Valencia is the worst university ever 😡

Worst university ever, I’m an İNTERNATİONAL student who came just for one semester for ERASMUS from another institution. It was the worst experience ever in my life, Esic university treated me so badly. The ERASMUS coordinator is really disrespectful and he didn’t even do a welcoming day for the new students. We didn’t get any training on how we can adapt to the university’s system. First, they told us it is a hybrid system, which is not the case. This is the first lie from a higher education institution. They are really trying to push me to fail administration and also teachers I really feel it’s a religious problem about where I come from , plus I did all of my exams perfectly. Now I’m surprised that one teacher wants me to fail because I didn’t do one exercise ( just one in all semester lol) , my exam was perfect now she doesn’t want to show me my results and told me that she will make me fail because of one exercise. It is not fair and no one from the administration wants to help me as an Erasmus student, but I feel there is a difference between me and Spanish nationalities. Now I will take my legal right. They really discriminated against me in every way I’m really sad how I got used and treated this badly and also this issue has now become a personal issue, I really don’t recommend any İNTERNATİONAL students to join ESIC Valencia it’s the worst university on planet earth 😡

    Here Talent Valencia 2021

Here Talent is a program promoted by the ESIC de València and Valencia Plaza schools, whose objectives are to bring together some of the most relevant companies in the Valencian Community young talents who have recently graduated or are about to do so. In addition, it also seeks to develop the soft skills most sought after by companies such as creativity and teamwork.

To be part of the program, initially you only had to send your CV, the language certificates you had and the extract of the notes. With all this, those responsible for the program selected the profiles that most captured their attention to move on to the first phase.

This phase consisted of going to the ESIC València center, where initially all the participants met and they explained to us what that day consisted of. That morning basically what they did was put us to the test through a Scape, a room, a debate and the typical test of creating the highest possible tower with 20 spaghetti, a rope and a cloud of candy. In this way they wanted to observe how we worked as a team, our creativity, how well we defended our ideas, etc. They were really fun tests, because while we were having fun and laughing, the teachers were getting to know us better and I was able to assess our potential. Finally, to finish getting to know each other a little more, we had an individual interview with one of those responsible for the program. I must admit that, at least mine, was very pleasant and close. I didn’t feel like I was in a serious interview, that I had pressure. You simply had to show who you were and why you were there, that is, to be yourself.

After that day, most of the participants went on to the final phase. This consisted of three sessions where we received both trainings at a professional level (techniques to develop ideas faster, teamwork, etc.) and at a personal level (work on emotional intelligence, get to know each other better …). And, in addition, the afternoon of the second day had the strong weight of the conference, which was meeting the human resources personnel of important companies such as Babaria, Balearia, Dacsa and others.

Honestly, the training we received for me was the best part of the program. We had speakers like David Casinos, a Valencian Paralympic medalist who taught us that we create barriers for ourselves. That if we have a dream we must fight for it as long as it is possible for us. And another speaker that I would like to highlight is Raquel Davo. She accompanied us in all three sessions and gave us workshops on emotional intelligence and relaxation. I think those workshops were the best of the experience, because we gained greater confidence in ourselves and allowed us to get to know each other better, which helped us to see more clearly what our objectives really were. For all this, I must say that both these speakers and the rest of the teachers and speakers who accompanied us were wonderful. Without a doubt, the organization of the program in this regard was extraordinary.

In addition, I want to highlight that this final phase took place at the Palau Alameda hotel, where they included both lunch and food at no cost, in addition to offering us water and coffee / tea at all times and accommodation for those participants who came from Murcia, since they could also join the program.

To conclude, obviously not everything could be good, and is that the approach with the companies left us a little decaffeinated. I have to admit that this took place on the second day in the afternoon, that is, we were already a bit tired, but honestly, the presentations were too long. In the end, all the companies told their story a bit, which took a long time. Well, not all of them, since due to the pandemic some HR managers could not attend the session (yes, those responsible for the program were in charge of providing our CVs to all participating companies). Also, obviously, no one was interested in all companies, so perhaps it would have been more beneficial to everyone if there had been a small global initial presentation, and subsequently, each participant approached the companies they thought they would fit in, as they also there was little individual contact (company-interested person) due to lack of time. And finally, I want to highlight that the majority of companies, although they came from different fields, mainly the positions they offered were related to marketing or similar positions. Those who closed all the opportunities to several of us, since not all of us come from that type of branch.

Despite this, if you have the opportunity to sign up for this program or a similar one, I sincerely recommend it. Because the experience and knowledge that you take with you really deserve it. The contact phase with the companies may have to improve, but I guarantee that the teacher and the speakers could not be better. And the facilities available in the program so that you are comfortable and do not lack anything is also incredible. I recommend it without a doubt!

    The job bank it provides.

The point of view provided by the professors who also work in companies, in the career that I study, is very enriching since there is greater contact with the business world. The exam system helps the student to pass and distribute the workload. ESIC has a large job bank that will help in the future to find work, in addition to the obligation to carry out internships in companies during one of the academic courses that show you from early to combine studies and work and gives you the first contact with a company.

    Degree Marketing and Commercial Management

    Hello!
I was studying on the ESIC Pamplona campus for the first three years of my career and now I am doing the fourth year at ESSEC Business School.
My experience in Pamplona was really satisfactory, the campus is a small modern building in a quiet area of the city and very familiar. The management and management team is very close and they help you in everything they can both academically and personally. In addition, the teachers I had during those 3 years were great professionals in their respective sectors and very good teachers, who managed to transmit their experience and knowledge successfully.
ESIC works with students in a very dynamic and practical way. Many group work is done, of which a high percentage is with real companies and clients.
On the other hand, my business school offers its students facilities to do internships and find work.
