I am an international student studying at Yonsei University. It’s an intense institution and the courses are challenging. Catching up with lectures can get difficult if your Korean is not very strong. Even if you are fluent in the Korean language according to TOPIK (Korean proficiency test), academic Korean is very different, and it can feel frustrating and emotionally exhausting. On the brighter side, professors and TAs are very helpful and answer questions patiently in class or through email. The university is challenging but rewarding and there are lots of opportunities to get scholarships. Lots of internship opportunities and chances to study abroad as exchange students are also available.
