Having graduated with a Bachelor of Environmental Sciences (BEnvSc) from the University of Venda in 2021, I can honestly say the program was a great experience. It opened my eyes to the challenges facing our environment and equipped me with the skills to tackle them.

The classes covered a wide range of topics, from ecology and resource management to pollution control and sustainability. The professors were knowledgeable and passionate about the environment, making even complex issues understandable. They also had a strong focus on the environmental issues specific to South Africa, which I found very relevant.

What I enjoyed most was the program’s balance between theory and practical learning. We didn’t just learn about environmental problems – we participated in field trips, conducted research projects, and even learned how to use specialized software. These hands-on experiences were invaluable and helped me develop important skills for a career in environmental science.

The program at Univen is well-respected in South Africa, and the faculty connections helped me land an internship with a local environmental NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) during my studies. This internship gave me real-world experience and helped me solidify my career path.

I heartily endorse the University of Venda’s BEnvSc curriculum. This demanding yet fruitful degree will get you ready for a profitable career in environmental science. This program is an excellent place to start if you have a strong desire to protect the environment!
