Pukke is a very good campus, the lecturers and students are very welcoming. I like the fact that it is a multi-racial and multi-lingual university. Everyone’s culture is important and taken into consideration, this makes studying fun.

This is a well rounded University that balances Academics with student life. Where you finished your degree and still managed to be part of something greater than yourself from res comities to the Student Campus Council.

I’ve just completed my first year at North-West University (NWU), and I’m thrilled to share my incredible experience. As a student in the Faculty of Economics, I was not only nurtured academically but also given opportunities to grow personally and professionally.

One of my highlights was serving as the Marketing Director for the Faculty of Economics for Leave a Legacy , where I developed valuable skills in marketing, leadership, and teamwork. I was also part of the Faculty of Economics Sub-committee under the CSE portfolio, which allowed me to contribute to the growth and development of our community.

Through various initiatives and projects, I had the opportunity to make a positive impact on the Potchefstroom community. These experiences not only broadened my perspective but also instilled in me a sense of social responsibility and compassion.

As I prepare to embark on my second year, I’m excited to build on the foundations laid and take on new challenges. NWU’s strong focus on community engagement, entrepreneurship, and academic excellence has prepared me well for the journey ahead.

To anyone considering NWU, I’d say: come prepared to work hard, learn from the best, and make a difference in your community. You won’t regret it!

I have a great University the student life at the NWU is incredible its a place of growth and new experiences making this a place not just of academics but of learning about yourself, different cultures and people. It provides a place for everyone where we all feel like we belong. Professors really care about your success and are more than willing to help you during their consulting hours if you have any questions or concerns, if you bring your part they bring their part and your success is a team effort. The university makes sure to set you up for success in every form they have a clinic, mental health services and also protection services as well as tutors called facilitators which help you prepare for your exams. Residence life is amazing you form a sisterhood / brotherhood with all the girls or guys the residences have what we call noise hours to support students during exams giving you the quite time to study and also time to have fun with many residence activities and recreational activities during the exam period. It is an esteemed University that has helped me gain my skills and expertise. I cannot wait to apply what I have learned from this Institution in the workplace. Every test, assignment and presentation has shaped my experience in a manner that will benefit the company.

The North-West University, Potchefstroom campus is an interesting and beautiful place to be. From the town being student friendly and allowing safe student mobility, to the university and its buzzing lifestyle. This university is truly a space for growth and finding your identity. The North-West academic atmosphere pushes you to aim for higher heights and simultaneously takes care of its students through facilities that cater to one’s mental health and physical health difficulties. However with that being said the NWU is a place where you can’t find yourself alone. Whether it be through a residence or a society, you’re sure to find your kind of people here. What may be a shock though would probably be that you may have a class taught in Afrikaans and you have a translator through headsets. However lecturers are accommodating and English is mostly the medium of communication. The university is multilingual too with English, Setswana and Afrikaans being the most commonly spoken languages on campus.

I highly recommend it for any learner, even though my first year was challenging but the institution made sure to accommodate everyone from every background. The lectures the best and systems I love it .

North West University is a good university and I’d recommend it to any grade 12 learner. I like the way they welcome first year students and the way they deliver content to students. NWU has friendly students and they make you feel at home even on your first day.

RURAL CULTURE WITH A NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL FOOTPRINT. CAMPUS LIFE IS RELAXED BUT STRICT CONDUCT RULES APPLIED. ADMIN STAFF ARE FLEXIBLE AND APPROACHABLE. COURSE COSTS ARE REASONABLE. RESOURCE CENTRES ARE TOP CLASS.
