My experience at Walter Sisulu University had several challenges worth noting. Many lecturers often used isiXhosa during lessons, and as a non-isiXhosa speaker, it made learning a bit difficult. Not all lecturers were willing to switch fully to English, which is the official medium of instruction.
Administrative processes were often slow and frustrating, which sometimes delayed important academic matters. Resources such as laboratory equipment and study spaces were limited, especially when compared to other universities that i enrolled in before. Communication from some departments was also inconsistent, making it difficult to get timely information.
However, WSU still offer a quality education if you are hardworking and self-driven. The experience helped me grow academically and professionally.
