CPUT is an excellent institution that really goes the extra mile for its students. It has a variety of programmes to choose from and is one of the largest universities in the Western Cape. I had a good campus life experience, was supported by campus counsellors when I battled with mental health and had good lecturers throughout my course duration. What stood out for me during my undergrad was CPUTs WIL which helped me gain my first real job. As part of your 3 or 4 year program it is a prerequisite to complete a 6 month/ 1 year Work Integrated Learning placement through CPUT which allows you to gain industry knowledge in your field. After I completed my 6 months WIL I was offered a permanent job at the company I did my WIL training at. CPUT also allows its students to graduate even with outstanding fees and several funding and bursary opportunities are sent to students email as they come through. Although they have admin issues, CPUT remains committed to student excellence.
