Studying at NUS has been a dream come true. The opportunities here are endless—from internships at top companies to research projects with renowned professors. For example, I’m currently working on a research project about renewable energy storage, which aligns perfectly with my ambition to work in sustainable energy. One challenge has been adapting to the fast-paced environment, but the friendships I’ve made and the support from my peers have made it easier. I expected a competitive atmosphere, but the reality is that while the standards are high, the sense of camaraderie among students is even stronger. NUS has not only met but exceeded my expectations in every way.

Studying at NUS is like being in the middle of an innovation hub where cultures blend seamlessly. One unique aspect no one talks about is the Kent Ridge Sunrise Club. Waking up early to join fellow students for sunrise hikes across the nearby nature parks is both grounding and inspiring. The sustainability initiatives here are next-level—students are encouraged to develop green projects, and some even have rooftop gardens in their dorms! The food culture is another unspoken gem. Beyond the famous hawker stalls, students host potluck nights featuring recipes from their hometowns, making campus life incredibly flavorful and personal.

Studying at NUS has been an incredible experience. As an engineering student, I have access to top-notch facilities, brilliant professors, and cutting-edge research opportunities. The campus is modern, well-maintained, and offers a lot of spaces to study or relax between classes. What I appreciate most is the university’s emphasis on real-world application of knowledge, from internships to collaborative projects with industry partners. However, the workload can be overwhelming at times, and it’s easy to feel burned out if you don’t manage your time well. That said, the support systems like counseling services and student organizations have been really helpful in maintaining a balance.

As an international student, I was initially nervous about adapting to life at NUS, but the university community made the transition much smoother. The diversity on campus is one of the highlights—I’ve met people from all over the world and learned so much from interacting with different cultures. I’m studying in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and I love the interdisciplinary approach and the flexibility to take courses outside my major. One challenge has been the high cost of living in Singapore, which can add stress on top of the academic pressures. However, the quality of education and the vibrant campus life make it worth it in the end.

The academic demands at NUS are intense, often leaving students with limited time for sports or leisure activities. Many students find themselves immersed in coursework, research projects, and exam preparation, which can lead to high stress and minimal free time. While the university offers various clubs and sports facilities, balancing a rigorous academic schedule with these extracurriculars can be challenging. The pressure to excel academically sometimes overshadows opportunities for relaxation and personal development. As a result, students must be proactive in managing their time to ensure they maintain a healthy balance between studies and leisure.

The employability department at the National University of Singapore offers excellent career resources and support. Internship opportunities are abundant, providing valuable work experience. Work on campus is readily available, and job placement after graduation is impressive due to the university’s strong reputation and networking opportunities. The university excels in preparing students for successful careers and i would recommend it to other students. Additionally, the quality of education is of the best standard and it is delivered by well trained faculty with many years of experience.
