I like it because it has so many different modules, for example Robotics and Automatization. There are a lot of opportunities to be part of production processes and working in laboratories. Professors are so entusiasthic and inspiring and always willing to help.
View moreOverall, I would say that I am satisfied with this faculty and course that I’m currently in. The professors are good at transferring their knowledge, most of them are open to compromise and discussion regarding exam times and deadlines for projects, esspecialy in higher years. The students are collegial and ready to help eachother, be it with clarifying the matter that we’re studying, providing missing information or just encouraging one another. The subjects are diverse and the course is constructed in a way that you can pick how you want to profile yourself, even allowing you to finish two subcourses at once if you choose your subjects properly. I would say the flexibility and diversity of this course is what I like about it the most. With all it’s benefits, getting onto the course itself is difficult and requires a lot of hard work and endured stress during the first year of faculty, but I believe getting through that hurdle is worth it in the end.
View moreUniversity of Belgrade consists of around 20 faculties which are located all around the city of Belgrade. I am a student of the School of Electrical Engineering, which is one of the most appreciated in our country and the whole region, and only the best students from our high schools manage to enroll in it. The study program has some parts considered to be a bit harder than the rest, and most of the students say that it is the first year because it is hard to adapt to the big groups that we suddenly have to face. We don’t have many students from abroad, but the ones we do are mostly from our neighbor countries. This faculty gives some great opportunities for personal growth, because there are many student associations that we can join and improve various skills. I would like to conclude this review with a quote of a professor: “Here, we don’t teach you to be great students, we teach you to be ninjas so that you can handle every kind of engineering problem.”
View moreThe University of Belgrade consists of many different departments and many different buildings spread around the city.
I attend the School of Electrical Engineering, the building of which is shared with the Schools of Architecture and Civil Engineering. The other Faculties are more distant, so we mostly communicate with students from our own department.
The study programme of our Faculty is rather challenging, as it is made for the best students of Serbia and neighbour countries. It is important to work hard in the first year of studies, in order to adapt to the challenging environment.
However, it is very convenient that lectures are not obligatory (except the laboratories), and all needed materials are usually provided to students. Of course, it is easier to follow a subject if one attends classes, but the professors are always willing to help and devote their time so that a student understands the matter. There are several opportunities to sit exams, which makes it easier to handle all the workload.
Lastly, there are several students associations present in the Faculty that enhance the creativity and initiative of the Electrical Engineering students’ life and offer them experiences in the fields of teaching, mentoring, organising, managing projects, teamwork, communication etc. And the fact that the lectures are not mandatory brings more freedom to the daily schedule of students.
