I’m taking classes on linguistics, literature and folklore both in Romanian and in English at the Faculty of Letters, at The University of Bucharest. If you love continuous learning and an interdisciplinary approach, then you’ll love it here. So far, I’ve studied the culture, history, politics and arts of both the United Stated and England for a better understanding of their literature and linguistic development. I’ve done the same for the Romanian language, but I’ve also learned about the Romanian folklore: amulets, vampires, spells, divination are only some of the topics that we’ve discussed. Personally, the folklore aspect is really interesting and it helps you to save time, because the syllabus is extremely well curated for a good understanding of the subject. The only downturn there could be for this study degree is probably the fact that there are just so many things to read about and study and so little time, that sometimes you just skim the surface and never get to get into the real topic.
