History

The institution was founded in 1991 when it was then a postgraduate teaching institution which included what was formerly known as the Faculty of High Political Studies at the University of Bucharest. In 1995 the university was awarded the power to grant undergraduate level degrees in political science, public administration, communication, and public relations.

Today SNSPA educates future professionals in the areas of Administrative Studies, Communication Sciences, Diplomacy, European Studies, Human Resources, International Relations, Management, Political Sciences, Psychology, and Sociology. The university has been described as ‘a landmark in the Romanian academic setting.’

Academics at SNSPA

The university is divided into four faculties, namely Communication and Public Relations, Management, Political Science, and Public Administration as well as one department; International Relations and European Integration.

At the beginning of the 2012 academic year SNSPA began running its masters programme in Marketing, Advertising and PR alongside the University of Sheffield in England. This initiative allows students to obtain a double diploma that both the institutions have the power to grant.
