Are you passionate about the business and finance sector? Do you follow the national and international news? Then, an Economics degree is the answer. It has always been one of the most sought-after degrees amongst youth.
Economics degrees are designed to tackle all the issues that have an impact on financial situations, ranging from production to how resources are used. Candidates are trained to understand how the economy suffers fluctuations based on the market’s needs and wants followed by the market’s supply and demand.
By far one of the most crucial elements is that economics is divided into microeconomics and macroeconomic. Microeconomics deals with the economic behaviour at an individual level (companies, buyers, sellers and others), whilst macroeconomics illustrates the bigger picture, on a national or global scale (unemployment, economic growth, inflation and so on).
Having an economics degree increases anyone’s chances to find a job, regardless of the field. This is mainly due to the fact that graduates hold many transferable abilities, such as analytical and problem-solving skills, that are suitable for any career.
A study made by the London School of Economics and Political Science showed that graduates from an economics course have a starting salary of £33,000 per year. Having a job in the field right after graduation is a major positive aspect and comes with a lot of opportunities for career advancement.
Economics degrees are usually a three years commitment and sometimes are offered as part of a joint degree. This means that Economics can be studied along with another subject such as engineering, management, law, computer science and others.
This degree can be found either as a Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Bachelor of Arts (BA). The BSc focuses more on economical theory and statistical techniques, while BA is combined with social sciences and qualitative modules.
The program is very interesting, and it is geared toward impacting knowledge and career development, the teachers are awesome, and endowed with knowledge and experience. I would recommend international students to apply for admission and start their career knowledge and development.

View moreI’m a third-year student at the University of Wrocław, and I can honestly say that it’s been an incredible adventure. From the moment I arrived in Wrocław, I knew that I was in for a treat.
The university itself is stunning, with beautiful historic buildings and modern facilities. My faculty, the Faculty of Law, Administration, and Economics, is located in the heart of the city, making it easy to get to class and explore the city.
Speaking of classes, I’ve been impressed with the quality of teaching and the range of courses available. My professors are experts in their fields, and they’re always willing to help and offer guidance. Plus, with a relatively small student-to-teacher ratio, I’ve been able to get to know my professors and classmates really well.
But university life isn’t just about classes, right? Wrocław is an amazing city, with a vibrant cultural scene, delicious food, and a great nightlife. From exploring the Market Hall and trying local specialties like pierogi and zapiekanka, to attending concerts and festivals, there’s always something to do.
One of the things I love most about Wrocław is its international community. As a university town, Wrocław attracts students from all over the world, making it easy to meet new people and make friends.
If I had to give one piece of advice to future students, it would be to take advantage of everything the university and city have to offer. Join a student organization, attend cultural events, and explore the city – you never know what amazing experiences you might discover.
Overall, I’m so glad I chose the University of Wrocław. It’s been an incredible experience, and I know that I’ll always treasure the memories and friendships I’ve made here.
