The university certainly has a lot to offer in terms of the range of courses and extracurricular activities. However, certain behaviours presented by the staff, especially senior professors should not be acceptable in the modern world. As a female Mechanical Engineering student, I have experienced what one might expect from a post-Soviet country, dominated by the patriarchic mindset and church policies, which unfortunately were reflected in some of the classes. Luckily, the younger generation of teachers is slowly taking over and supporting everyone, as they should. The classes cover an enormous amount of knowledge, but offer very little practice in practical modern day engineering, which can be a setback in entry-level job experiences.
