The first thing that comes to our minds when we hear Travel and Hospitality is ‘people’. As the name of the degree suggests, it is all about customer service. Travel and Hospitality degrees prepare candidates to work in diverse working environments all over the world.
Even so, many people confuse Travel and Hospitality degrees with Tourism degrees. What is the difference between these two? The main difference lies in where the employees work. With a Tourism degree, you can work in a museum, national park and so on, whilst with a Travel and Hospitality degree you will work in hotels, restaurants.
This degree is shaped in such a way that candidates acquire skills about hotel management, food preparation and sanitation as well as human resources.
Experts say that it only takes six months for Travel and Hospitality graduates to find a job. The most frequent areas which display the highest number of job opportunities are catering management and hotel management. As a result of their flexible degree, 15% of the graduates choose to combine work with study to broaden their employability chances.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, this field will have an addition of 700 jobs, both in management positions and others.
Perhaps the most important benefit is represented by the growth opportunities. This degree will teach you about networking and developing your emotional intelligence, which are of utmost importance in this field.
This degree lasts for three years, out of which one year should be spent abroad. Usually, in the second year of their studies, students go abroad and study in a partner country. The whole idea behind this is to encourage cultural awareness and adaptation.
Additionally, some universities in the UK provide a compulsory internship during which students gather relevant industry experience.
So far my overall experience has been enjoyable however being a student from a foreign country does have its own challenges as it’s harder to adapt to the new culture and unfamiliar surroundings and it’s not always an easy thing to do. It is easy to feel lonely and isolated. The university is nice however socialising can be hard
View moreIt was a good time in the beginning then it all well to hell… coz all they did care was about money not education. But oh well I hope they have changed now. I love the potential that they do have and what they can do with their space
View moreMy name is Loic I’m 21 years old and I love hospitality. One of the reasons I chose to join Vistula University is because of the schools rich faculty of tourism. The school offers a wide variety of programs to support tourism courses such as the Erasmus program. I also like Vistula because of the way it provides learners with an amazing environment to study not just inside class but also outside class while sharing with students from different cultures. It is always great having lectures from the most devoted staff I have ever seen, I would recommend people who want to learn good hospitality and tourism management skills to join vistula without a doubt.
View moreThe classes are good but too long. Sometimes students cannot concentrate. It really depends on the professors. Others make it fun and you look forward to the classes and others don’t. Due to the covid situation l found it hard to actually put anything into practice because most of the service organizations are closed or have many restrictions.
View moreMy faculty was not that crowded because international students are not choosing that much our class was cute we are like 7 8 people. We were like family with our classmates and with professors. Also, the university has a superfluity in social activities if you are a student in the Vistula you should join some clubs I guarantee that you will have enjoyable moments in clubs.
View moreMy journey with Vistula University started in October 2017 and honestly, after studying in one of the most popular Ukrainian universities, I can confidently say that Vistula is a great place to be. Not only cause of studies, but also because of rich and dynamic student life.
Many say that Vistula is being governed by students. And it’s really so, because we have the freedom to organize various events and get funded for it. Students’ ideas are welcomed here, at least that is the experience I had. I was a member of at least three prominent communities in school, including the Student Council.
Moreover, it’s a deeply international place. Hence it’s a great place to learn about the world, make friends from pretty much half of the planet. Amazing experience.
In regards to studies part, my selected course was Hospitality Business, particularly Hotel Industry.
What I liked most is that the professors we had were in their majority very experienced people, not only in teaching but in the hotel industry itself. Therefore, lectures were not purely theoretical but also with a lot of practical tips and case studies. It was interesting and it was easy to comprehend. I must mention that majority of our professors could speak very good English which is really important, based on my experience.
We also had a lot of practical lessons and it’s great that the school has connections with different hotels, to organize those lessons or help with the internship venue.
When it comes to my course, I’d definitely recommend it to my friends and everyone who’s seeking good quality studies and really fun student life.
View moreI am having a fantastic time studying in Vistula. I miss home but my cute adorable friends give me my second home. I couldn’t imagine my staying without them and my teacher’s support. My professors are incredible ideas and understanding of the situation in my case, I am from Ethiopia. I am glad happy that Vistula is the starting point of my long and exciting journey.
Thank you 🙂

As a citizen of Uzbekistan, applying to this programme provided amazing opportunities to explore my abilities not only to study completely different methods of education which is self-education but also self-actualize and expand my own capabilities being alone in the huge country. As an international University, Vistula cooperates with other companies which ensures assistance to students with finding a job and caring about their future. Furthermore, for the foreigners who are in doubt and looking for a good place to study, Vistula University is the best place.
View moreFirstly the university is great when it comes to international environment, it has students from many different countries providing a very unique experience.
Secondly it has many choices of study programs under one roof in English as it is a little hard to find English courses in Poland.
Although it is a private university it is growing and developing many opportunities for its students.
