My personal experience while being a student was like many others, challenging as the syllabus for my career in Industrial Engineering was very demanding, yet also gave me the strenght to survive in a competitive environment. I learned to manage my time in order to success in my subjects while also keeping up with my social life, as it was very important to chill down and enjoy time with friends and be relieved from the stress of the middle term exams, projects and research reports that we had to prepare in order to finish the career successfully.
My classmates were in a similar situation, the saddest thing was that our conversations were subject related. For me it’s like work, when I’m done with work I want to talk about anything else but work. However, if you hang out with your workmates, it is very difficult to find another topic but the one everyone has in common. That’s why after class, I used to go to a different bulding still inside campus and hang out with people from different careers. Even thought they started talking about their own subjects, forr me it was something new, something fresh and felt like I was finnaly somewhere else far from my own challenges for a moment and was able to take a break from stress.
It was not until I studied a Diploma in Business Coaching 3 years ago that I learned how to deal with college-related stress. My plan is to do an MBA in the future and with that and my previous experience at college my school life will be as challenging as the previous one, but with the new tools that I have acquired and I’m confident I will enjoy it more.
