I have graduated from a very competitive public university in city. Every year, thousands of students rush towards getting admission leaving them astry of dark reality inside. While I know there are some loopholes in every education sector but here I am talking about my experience with the higher education sector. To begin with, financial and funding is crucial in making an ideal system. Most of the funding goes to rennovation projects and very less in the growth of students. There is not much scholarship and stipend available that students could avail results in losing potential students. Less number of departments with least focus on STEM programs, unequal distribution of funds to departments, once you get inside only you deal with is confusion and uncertainty. There is an age limit set to get higher education which is why students rush to get admit right after year 12, without thorough thinking. To sum up, we are much needed to change our mindset rather than focusing on changing structure. At the end of the day, it’s mind which brings change not expensive walls.

I am a psychology student here at Government college university which is located in Lahore. I believe there no such government university in whole Pakistan. To get in to GCU the marit is really high.

My opinion about GCU are quite complex. On the one hand you are enamored by the gothic lady that stands proud and beautiful in the middle of one of Pakistan’s most vibrant cities. It is filled with some exceptional teachers and resources that aid in the development of not only one’s opinion about life but the political strife of our country. It is a completely multicultural institute where you don’t do tokens of any ethnicity/religion/caste/creed but see the active members of each of these co-existing. However, where all these points do exist on the other hand GCU runs into many logistical problems. The admin sometimes doesn’t care or simply deems it unimportant to solve real strife of the students. On some instances the teachers become subpar. And some even seem even well versed or well qualified. That is not to say no good teachers exist at all. Merely, that certain departments especially the English Literary department, Sciences and Business have a much stronger teaching faculty than others. Which makes you wonder why such a wide divide exists in the first place.
Yet I’d still recommend GCU to many aspiring poets, writers and political scientists because in these sections the halls of GCU flourish and allow for such creative and individual growth that one truly marvels at the growth experienced after the fact of going through a degree at GCU.
I hope mt words are helpful to others. And that they recognize that GC although majestic in the way it is perhaps isn’t as perfect as one assumes. And certainly not as bad as others might have you believe. It is a mixed bag of inconsistencies that quite like life you’ll enjoy nonetheless.
