My bachelor’s in social anthropology at the University of Bergen was highly organized, even during corona. They have good professors and a good learning environment in nice facilities.
In addition, the university of Bergen focuses on welfare for the students and offers several different services through the welfare organization “sammen”, varying from housing, gyms, sports, counseling, cafeterias, and more
University of Bergen is one of the best 1000 universities in the world. The professors are very good and they tried to taught the concept of the course. The University is located in the city and it fulfils different kinds of facilities for students. Totally, I think I got a lot from University of Bergen from the years I spent there.
View moreBesides being deeply dissatisfied with the programme I enrolled in for personal reasons, the University itself is worthy of criticism.
1) They largely use an outdated video streaming software for their lectures, that doesn’t allow the students to contact the teachers. This software would occasionally not have sound and there would be nothing to fix it as the lecturers would be busy.
2) When they finally converted to zoom, it made the majority miss the streaming platform, as at least it saved the lectures for us to review again.
3) They do not use Canvas, like every other University. Instead, they use the free version, which does not permit access to the canvas app. For a while, they had their own, which was absolutely useless. ut after that they just told us to “Check the webpage daily”.
4) Some of the lecturers are outright rude, dismissing students’ concerned questions and outright rolling their eyes when asked something “stupid” and “obvious”.
My experience in Bergen university was great to say the least. The environment was friendly and very international.
The campuses were distributed throughout the centre of the city. Which allowed great student life experience due to the accessibility to all the different facilities provided for the students in the city.
The administration and the academics personnel provided support and guidance throughout the entire program. The tutors and lecturers were knowledgeable and approachable.
Additionally, there were multiple courses directed at careers and opportunities after graduation. Which were great for fresh graduates.
I definitely reccomend the university of Bergen.

•One can choose between many different student organizations. There are several organizations connected to the beautiful nature with mountains and fjords.
•Many social events during the semester, especially within the faculty
•different types of practical instruction from the teachers
Con:
•lack of engagement from some of the teachers who seem to be more into research than teaching medical students
I spent my Erasmus semester here. Had interesting classes of a comfortable size (not too many students). The university provided good assistance regarding housing, introduction to the city and health care.
