I studied pharmacy at the University of Uyo where I graduated 10 years ago. I am in contact with some current students and I was shocked to learn that not much has changed in the curriculum. The pharmaceutical industry is very dynamic with new discoveries being documented regularly, as such if the curriculum is not being updated to meet up with the industry, how then can students be expected to compete internationally?. This worries me a lot. The lack of modern infrastructure means students are lagging behind in practicals.

Now to the good part which is the social activities. I love that social life on campus is still great as I’ve been told and different clubs and social events like sports clubs, debate clubs, campus radio etc. are still active.
