at University of Ilorin

I graduated from the University of Ilorin in 2014, and overall, my experience was very rewarding. One of the strongest points of the university is its academic discipline and structured calendar. Unlike many institutions in Nigeria that often deal with prolonged strikes, Unilorin stood out for its commitment to keeping an uninterrupted academic schedule, which helped me graduate on time.

The quality of teaching was solid, with dedicated lecturers who not only focused on theory but also encouraged practical applications where possible. The campus environment was generally conducive for learning, and the diversity of students made it easy to build lifelong friendships and networks.

That said, there were areas that could be improved. Some facilities, like lecture halls and libraries, were often overcrowded, and access to certain resources felt limited at times. Extracurricular activities were available, but could have been better structured to support students’ wider interests outside academics.

In summary, the University of Ilorin provided me with a strong academic foundation and instilled in me a sense of discipline and focus. While there is room for growth in terms of infrastructure and student support services, I believe it remains one of the more reliable and impactful universities in the country.
