Student review [#31659] for Linguistics and Languages
at University of Calabar - UNICAL

I quite like my program but some Professors lack the enthusiasm to impact knowledge on the students, they hardly come to teach but give out study materials sometimes even a week before examinations. That can be quite jarring. Also, sometimes certain class buildings and seats aren’t enough to accommodate all the students(for that particular class) and some students have to stand the whole class as a result. Accommodation is not much of an issue as Campus is situated at the centre of town thereby making it easily commutable for students living on or off campus. One thing that could be improved in my opinion is the quality and standard of the buildings and classrooms. Enough seats should be provided according to the carrying capacity and number of students of a given class. That aside, student life is great. It could be a bit tedious sometimes due to alot of school work but I still enjoy it. UNICAL is not very International in my opinion. Only very few students from border countries attend. The career prospects are at an all time high as Linguists are in high demand in embassies, business and Education.
