A Solid Foundation in Nursing with Room for Growth

Ogun State College of Nursing Sciences made me question a lot about the way nursing is taught and treated in Nigeria. While the goal is to produce disciplined professionals, the process often feels more like punishment than learning. Students are regularly disrespected, embarrassed, or harshly disciplined over minor issues. There’s little room for dialogue, support, or even humanity.

It’s not just the college,it’s the entire system. Nursing students are often treated like they don’t matter, and this leaves many of us mentally and emotionally drained. If you’re considering nursing, I strongly advise going through a university where you might have more structure, dignity, and a balanced experience.

I hope the system improves someday, but right now, it’s very discouraging.
However, the academic system can be rigid at times, and I feel the school could benefit from integrating more digital tools and updated teaching methods. Campus life is moderate, not overly social, but focused, which can be good for serious-minded students.

Overall, if you’re looking for a school that prioritizes discipline, professionalism, and practical experience, this is a great choice.
