The record states that Obafemi Awolowo University is one of the best schools in the country and I totally agree. However, that doesn’t mean it is without flaws.
During my first year, 4000 students received lectures in a 1000 capacity classroom, so the way out was to either read up on your own or contact a coursemate who could help. But I guess it’s just the Nigeria factor. Well, the situation changed in year 2 when I started taking my departmental courses (pharmacy courses), no crowded classes, there is a good relationship between students and lecturers and most facilities required for practicals are available.
This is not the case in all other departments as some of my friends would always complain about these things.
Speaking of security, OAU is a very safe school! Hardly would u hear of cases of kidnap, rape or theft. The students are very conscious and accommodating.
One thing I love so much about the school is how you can move about at any time of the night without the fear of being harmed or robbed.
I think I should state that OAU does not only encourage academics, it also promotes extracurricular activities, in case you are thinking it’s a school for nerds😃.
It’s a school you should consider!
