Studying political science at Obafemi Awolowo University was an opportunity for me to learn first-hand from professionals and actors in politics. There were practical examples in the real political world that met with the theories taught in the classroom. When students studying political science are given the privilege to have industrial experience, it could go a long way for them to become more relevant in the political environment in their home state. Student life in Ife is conducive as there are basic amenities that aids learning as there is still room for improvements in other areas. OAU is international as you can find the school amongst its international contemporary on the world ranking log.
A degree in political science equips me with many useful transferable skills including:
the ability to research, source and examine information thoroughly; the capacity to critically analyse evidence and construct coherent arguments; excellent written and oratory skills intellectual independence and autonomy; team working skills with a flexible and open-minded approach to work.
