At first, I didn’t choose Social Work as my preferred course, but along the way I realized it was truly the right fit for me. The programme has helped me discover my passion for helping people and understanding society better.

The university provides a generally good learning environment. The campus is conducive, and I’ve enjoyed the academic experience overall. However, some challenges exist—certain lecturers make learning more difficult than it should be, and unfortunately, little is done to address this. Also, due to overpopulation, I haven’t had the opportunity to stay on campus, and accommodation outside is quite expensive.

Despite these challenges, I strongly believe my university is one of the best places to study Social Work. It has given me the right foundation and exposure I needed to appreciate and enjoy my programme.

University of Lagos is a top notch school for students who wants to learn from a top university in Nigeria where they have a good and excellent lecturers and an environment that can not just be conducive for learning but for other fun activities

The University of Lagos is a school full of opportunities, especially for students who know their way around. If you’re involved in anything innovative, it’s not hard to find sponsors or support to push your ideas forward. UNILAG always has something going on; from academic programs to volunteering opportunities, it’s possible to find something to engage with every single day of the year.

Social life is very active, especially in the second semester, with lots of parties and events. These experiences can be both a blessing and a distraction. If you’re able to harness them well, they contribute to your personal growth and network. But if you get carried away, they can really affect your academics.

Personally, I love the environment, especially the Lagoon Front and the chapel. They’re peaceful spots to relax and clear your head.

Unilag is one of the first generation universities in Nigeria, and known as one of the most prestigious Universities in the country. Unilag is known for her unrivaled academic standards, which is reflected by the strict admission process which attracts the best students across the country. Unilag is often described as the closest to schooling in the United States, and without a doubt, Unilag can be described as the Harvard of Nigeria. The quality of graduates produced by this University speaks of her excellence, with numerous alumni leading the political, economic, and technological space of the Nigeria.

Unilag is a university that embraces balance between academic life and social life. Outside academics, Unilag exposes her students to various social activities that provide opportunities for students to showcase their talent and creativity. This is the reason why many top stars in the Nigerian music and film industry are alumni of the great institution.

Unilag is the perfect institution for athletes, the structure and resources available at the institution’s sport center show her commitment to sport related activities. Recently, the school hosted the Nuga games (Nigerian University Games Association) and the Fasu games (Federation of African University Sports), which is a testament of the Institution’s capacity in sport related activities.
Additionally, numerous clubs and association exist in Unilag which are platforms for students to learn leadership and responsibility.

Unilag can also be described as the land of freedom and diversity. The school appreciate the uniqueness of every student and provide equal opportunities for all regardless of any differences.
Unilag to me is filled with positive experiences. I believe Unilag title as the University of First Choice and the Nation’s pride is well deserved.

As a student of the University of Lagos, I have had the opportunity to experience firsthand what it means to be part of one of Nigeria’s most prestigious institutions. In my opinion, the University of Lagos stands out for its commitment to academic excellence, the diversity of its student body, and the dynamic environment it fosters both within and outside the classroom.
One of the things I admire most about UNILAG is its strong academic foundation. The lecturers are generally knowledgeable, passionate about their fields, and committed to imparting knowledge. The university offers a wide range of programmes across various faculties, allowing students to explore interdisciplinary interests. The library resources, although sometimes needing updates, provide a good starting point for academic research, and the university continues to improve in integrating technology into learning through online portals and e-learning platforms.
Beyond academics, the vibrant campus life at UNILAG is something I deeply appreciate. There is a wide array of student-led associations, clubs, and events that help build leadership, creativity, and social engagement. The cultural diversity on campus creates a rich experience, allowing students to interact with peers from different backgrounds and parts of the country.
However, like many institutions in Nigeria, the University of Lagos faces certain challenges. Issues such as overcrowded lecture halls, occasional administrative delays, and the need for better maintenance of facilities can be frustrating. Despite these, the resilience of the university community in managing and adapting to these limitations is commendable.
Overall, I would recommend the University of Lagos to prospective students. It is a place where you not only gain academic knowledge but also grow as an individual. The opportunities for learning, networking, and self-development are vast. With continuous improvement, especially in infrastructure and student support systems, UNILAG has the potential to reach even greater heights.

The University of Lagos is an outstanding institution, often regarded as Nigeria’s equivalent of an Ivy League university. It carries a strong reputation, and when people hear you studied there, they acknowledge that you attended a top-tier school.

My overall experience was great, except for the disruptions caused by external factors. A staff union strike and the COVID-19 pandemic extended my stay—what should have been a 2021 graduation turned into 2023. Despite these setbacks, the university itself remains an excellent place for learning and personal growth.

One of the things I loved about Unilag is its vibrant environment. The lecturers are knowledgeable and approachable, always willing to guide students. The school is located in a highly commercial area, which presents students with numerous opportunities to network and connect with influential people.

However, one aspect that could use improvement is the infrastructure, particularly the accommodation. The hostel facilities are not the best, and this is an area where the school can do better. But beyond that, everything else about Unilag is impressive.

Overall, the University of Lagos is a great institution that offers quality education, valuable connections, and a solid foundation for success.

University of lagos is a great school, filled with excellent educationalist who are dedicated to their jobs, the school motto is “let our educational skill pass through you”. My department is one of the most challenging departments as the lecturers there will make you work hard for your scores, make your read and expand your knowledge

Situated right in the heart of the state, the institution has gained prestige over the years as a result of the outstanding success it has produced. Each year, thousands of students enrol and complete their studies across various fields and excel in them. The University of Lagos is highly recommended to individuals who desire to pursue higher education, gain core values and achieve academic success.

My university is the best,it is a great place for learning and it also caters to people with disabilities. I don’t think I have seen anything I dislike in my school yet because of course every school has its own issues but the good of the school has overcome the little bad and they are being worked on
