Studying at the National Open University of Nigeria has been a pretty good experience overall. My graduate program in Information Technology gave me a solid mix of theory and practical experience, and I feel like I’ve grown a lot academically since I enrolled here.
The professors are one of the best parts of my experience at NOUN. Most of them are really supportive, approachable, and genuinely care about students doing well. I also liked the variety of classes I could choose from, which made it easy to focus on areas I was most interested in.
On the other hand, some of the administration stuff can be slow and frustrating. One downside is that there aren’t enough support staff for the number of students, so it sometimes took a while to get help or have support tickets resolved. A few courses also felt like they could use more real-world projects or industry connections to make them more practical.
What really stood out to me was how supportive my classmates were. The camaraderie in class groups was amazing and made the whole college experience much more enjoyable.
I’d definitely recommend the National Open University of Nigeria if you’re thinking about studying Information Technology. It’s not perfect, but the positives outweigh the negatives, and you’ll get a lot out of the experience.
