Overall, I would rate my Computer Science programme at the National Open University of Nigeria as very beneficial. The programme covered key areas such as programming, databases, and software engineering, giving me a solid foundation in computer science. I particularly valued the flexible distance-learning model, which helped me strengthen self-discipline, research skills, and independent learning — qualities that are essential in today’s digital and remote work environment.

Although there were occasional challenges such as limited face-to-face interaction with lecturers, the online resources, study materials, and tutorials provided were helpful and effective. In general, the programme prepared me well for both professional growth and continuous learning

MY OPINION ABOUT THE SCHOOL IS ACCESSIBILITY, FLEXIBILITY, AFFORDABILITY AND WIDE RANGE OF PROGRAMS, RESEARCH PROGRAM REPUTATION, ACCREDITATION. FURTHERMORE, I WILL DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT ANY TIME ANY DAY.

National open university of Nigeria is a game changer for individuals who want to pursue higher education but face barriers such as location, finances, or personal circumstances. They offer a flexible and accessible way to gain knowledge and skills, and their online platforms provide a sense of community and connection with fellow students and instructors.

What I generally dislike about NOUN? The Perception of lesser value: Some employers or academics often view degree as less prestigious than traditional university degrees.
What I like about NOUN?
I like that National open university of Nigeria offer flexible and accessible education, allowing individuals to pursue their academic goals at their own pace, anytime, and anywhere, making higher education more inclusive and equitable even for people in prisons.

And yes, I would recommend open universities to those who:

National open University of Nigeria, is an open distance learning institution (ODL), what this means is that, you don’t have to attend lectures in classrooms like other institutions, you just have to buy the form, pay your fees, go home read, write your
TMA’s(Tutor mark assessment) and write your exams.

NOUN is convenient. There certificate is generally acceptable all over the nation and the world.
