The University of Ilorin, popularly called “Better by Far,” is honestly one of the best universities in Nigeria. In fact, it’s among the top 5 in the country, and that’s saying a lot considering Nigeria is the giant of Africa.

One thing students really like about Unilorin is the lecturers. They’re not just knowledgeable but also quite accessible – you can easily reach out to them for help or clarification, which makes learning a lot smoother.

Accommodation-wise, Unilorin is doing well too. There are good private hostels right inside the school, and the best part is that they’re affordable. So, if you prefer staying on campus, you’ll find something decent without breaking the bank.

The school is also super popular. Between 2019 and 2023, JAMB records showed that it was the most applied-to university in Nigeria. That alone says a lot about how much people trust and value the education Unilorin offers.

Now, the only major issue is transportation. Students who stay off-campus sometimes struggle because there aren’t enough school buses or cars to take them to and from lectures. So, you might end up waiting a while or rushing early to beat the crowd.

All in all, the University of Ilorin really lives up to its “Better by Far” motto. With just a few improvements. Therefore I will still recommend it to people.

University of Ilorin offers a solid educational experience with a focus on academic excellence. the institution places on a strong emphasis discipline, reflected in their strict dress code policies. while this ensures a professional and respectful atmosphere, some students find it restrictive. Despite this, the university provides a conducive environment for learning, and its commitment to maintaining a high standard of education is commendable. Its important for prospective students to weigh the benefits of academic quality against campus regulations when considering University of Ilorin.

My experience at the University of Ilorin was both challenging and rewarding. I had the opportunity to learn from knowledgeable doctors and professors, participated in engaging class discussions, and worked on projects and group assignments that helped me to grow as a student and individual.

One of the most challenging aspects of my undergraduate experience was balancing my coursework with extracurricular activities and personal responsibilities, and getting going to school early before lectures because of the distance between the school gate and my faculty. However, this challenge has also helped me to develop time management skills and discipline that have assisted me well in my endeavors.

Another challenge I faced as an undergraduate was adapting to a new environment. Coming from a busy place like Lagos, attending a university located in a less busy environment was a major one for me. It took some time to get accustomed to life in a developing community. However, I made some great friends in the community and I enjoyed exploring all that my university offered.

Overall, my undergraduate experience was a beautiful journey of personal and academic growth. I faced challenges and overcome them, and I gained valuable experiences and skills.

Uni-Ilorin is one of the best universities in Nigeria filled with extra intellectual lecturers who always take their time to explain difficult concepts and adopt the best teaching methods ever.
The accommodation provided by the school is quite conducive and comfortable.
The library’s collections are quite relevant and useful for studying and convenient enough for reading and assimilation.
The campus environment is quite structured and attractive and the routes within the campus are secure and good.
In terms of facilities and equipment for learning, the school is not lacking.
One thing I dislike about the school is the issue of picking their tribes as the first priority when giving admission to students. Aside from this only issue, I can recommend it for both local and international students.
