What is a Psychology Degree?
Psychology is the favourite science for students who want to get into the depths of human feelings. This is considered to be the science of mind and behaviour. More specifically, psychology wants to explore the way people think, act, and feel, by appealing to the emotional side of people.
Passion can lead students to choose this specialisation. It is not considered a difficult one, but it is not very easy to approach, as the theoretical elements of the discipline are combined with the practical ones.
After studying Psychology, students choose to specialise in a particular sub-field. Depending on their preference, they can choose between Biological Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Comparative Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Personality Psychology and many others.

Psychology Degree Structure
In the four years of Bachelor studies, graduates acquire the necessary knowledge to practice Psychology, initially learning the underlying theoretical notions. These notions become an important starting point in their career, seeing later how practice blends very well with theory. It should be noted that on the labour market, students who hold a Bachelor’s degree are much more appreciated and have an advantage over those who follow simple courses.
A Master’s program usually lasts between 2 and 3 years, coming as a complement to the Bachelor’s courses. Master courses have a much more loaded curriculum and a great deal of information. A Doctoral program is dedicated to students who want to do research in Psychology in various institutes or to become teachers. This has a duration of between 5 and 7 years.

StudentNGMy experience in schoolThroughout my stay in Obafemi Awolowo University, it wasn’t easy at all. My experience in OAU was a very great one, the school provided very quality education, it really boost my experience about education, it also make me know more about life. There were times you’ll be happy, sad, downcast and also lazy. OAU taught me a lot of things. One of which is how to multitask. You can’t attend the school and not learn how to multitask.The summary of my experience was that, I was focused on my education and avoided different distractions. Campus life was interesting, frustrating, tiring, it takes a determined student to scale through all the challenges in school. It isn’t easy to achieve success, but it requires hardworking, patience, Endurance, determination and concentration.

Obafemi Awolowo University is located at Ile Ife in Ogun state in the Western part of Nigeria, it is a renowned university, it is presently one of the best universities in Nigeria in West Africa as a whole.

The environment is usually peaceful and conducive, the location is learning-friendly as it is on the outskirt of the city. It has one of the largest libraries in West Africa. The students are mixed and the school has quite a huge number of foreign students from different parts of Africa, Asia and America.
The lecturers are hardworking and committed and the school teaches values and prepares the student for the future.
Its facilities are modern and the has recreational centres, a nice cafeteria, basketball court, football field and the power supply is reliable and stable.
It produces a large number of students with distinctions yearly.
I would recommend the school to my friends and family anytime.
In all, I’m having a wonderful experience as a student at the school.
