OAU is a university tied to strict Yoruba cultural measures alongside education. I may necessary not say that these measures are uncomfortable for us all but for me, it’s a NO. Precautions where staffs ought to be put into consideration are waived due to elderly benefits and respects. This has not only tampered with emotions of students but see yo the failure of many others.

The university is capable of giving everyone a chance to learn, to feel heard and involved and to also achieve educational goals through this platform,
This educational platform is practical, user-friendly, and well-organized. The content is clear and engaging, making it easy to stay motivated. I appreciate the flexibility to learn at my own pace. It’s a great resource for anyone serious about improving their skills and gaining real-world knowledge from anywhere.

This school did not room for academic exploration with individual ideas as a student. You can’t challenge the idea bring in by lectures but the best is to dance to the idea brought-in for you.
This is making most students in this institution to only trust what their lectures has told them with personal research.

I had no issues like my first degree and it further confirmed that if I work very hard, I will get the desired result. I was able to do and I also met some amazing people along the way who made the journey as easy process.

Obafemi Awolowo University is a big institution though old. Being in the school itself is a thing of pride because you’re considered brilliant if one can get admitted there. The environment is beautiful but learning itself is where the problem lies. You find some classes interesting while some are so boring you have no clue of what the lecturer is saying. Lecture rooms are also few so a class is always congested. I’m taking about fitting 1000+ students into a 500 seaters lecture hall. The school needs to reduce the amount of students they admit every academic session. All in all, I would love to attend the University again. Note that if you aren’t strong and smart studying in OAU might be very difficult but I’d recommend anytime because the fees are economical.

The positive side of the university is the freedom of expression. Compared to other universities in the country, OAU tends to permit individual creative expression and this was a huge difference in making a decision on where to school and it’s highly recommended

Honestly, the program was full of highs and lows, I had a very hard time adjusting to undergraduate life, Nigeria being a third-world country did not help at all because of the incessant strike actions that kept popping up and the constant closure of schools as a result of student protest. Student-Professor relationships are really not encouraged because the professors have the power to do anything without any repercussion. However, student life is what makes everything bearable, the students have an unspoken code and they try to help each other when the need arises and also organise fun and educational activities from time to time, all in all, my stay in the school was very pleasant.
To a very large extent, the school is internationally recognised, having partnerships with major countries like France, Germany, Portugal, and Brazil among others.

Studying the English language took a long time for me to adapt to, but gradually, with the passing of each day, I slowly began to understand the rhythm behind it and though I still have a long way to go on this journey, I’m almost certain that this is the right path.
All in all, I have an amazing experience in school.

OAU has always been one of the greatest universities in Nigeria and I must say, I enjoyed every bit of my study there. Though it wasn’t a smooth ride all the way those bad days I experienced there kinda like prepared me ahead of the real-life situations outside school. I miss OAU so much! The lecturers and their unique ways of instilling knowledge into the students coupled with the culture OAU as a school puts in every student directly and indirectly; the different kinds of students we have on campus: the funny, serious, partly-serious, unserious but serious ones! The almighty Awo hall and its boys! The ‘ârò’ every OAU student must know by fire by force! Lol! The secured environment and how you can walk freely anywhere on campus at any time of the day and night without fear! Students walking fast and running for classes! The sweet school anthem we sing with pride yunno! Lol
I miss everything about OAU. That school will humble you no matter who you think you are! Unending love I have for OAU! Of the greatest Ife!
