– some sexual harassment from some lecturers
Would I recommend it?
Yes — if you’re determined and can adapt to challenges, ESUT will teach you both academics and resilience. However, I’d also encourage future students to be proactive and patient with the system.

Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) is a university with potential, especially in the sciences and engineering fields. One thing I genuinely appreciate is its strong emphasis on technical education — many of the courses are designed to push students into thinking practically and solving real-world problems.
What I liked:
– Some lecturers are deeply passionate and committed, especially in the engineering and medical faculties.
– The school environment, particularly the main Agbani campus, is quite peaceful for studying.
– There’s a strong community spirit among students — people look out for one another.
What I didn’t like:
– The infrastructure still needs serious attention — from lecture halls to lab equipment.
– Administrative delays can be frustrating (e.g., results, clearance, transcripts).
– Power supply is erratic at times, which affects both classes and campus life.

Would I recommend ESUT?
Yes, If you’re focused, self-driven, and ready to navigate some of the challenges common in many Nigerian public universities, ESUT can still give you a solid academic foundation.
What stood out for me:
The resilience of the students. Despite the limitations, many go on to excel in tech, medicine, and entrepreneurship. Some professors were also deeply impactful — not just academically but in mentorship.

As an alma mater of ESUT, I will like to start by saying that I had good experience through out my studies there. Most of the lecturers I came across during my time there were exceptional in in-terms of teaching and passing of knowledge. Talking particularly about my faculty (Faculty of Engineering) and department (Computer Engineering), I will say it’s the best in ESUT even till date. There is no dull moment there and surely you will get maximum value for the school fees paid. Registration and enrollment seems pretty straightforward and there is always someone to help you with understanding some certain things if need be. The environment is clean and calm for quality learning. Although some departments are far from each other, there is shuttle buses that is always standing-by to commute students to every corner in the school. ESUT is well equipped with modern technology equipment in different departments. Like in my own department which is Computer Engineering, we have a modern computer lab that is well equipped with computers and other high tech components and standing-by power supply and engineers that are ever ready to teach and impact quality knowledge in us. Although the school fees might seems to be a little bit high but it worth it regardless.

The selection of courses is very to standard – the school selected courses that are required for computer science studies.
The classes are well planned but the problem here is that some of the lecturers skip some of their class time to make it up later.
The school is situated in a very conducive and serene environment for studies, a welcoming environment that has fresh air from nature. The school enjoys advancement adjustment to current study trends.
My dislikes about the school are the restriction to equipment usage for practicals and the absence of in-depth teaching of practical courses.
I would recommend the school to anybody that wants to study any tech enclined course.
My career prospects are high because of the type of industry that drives my chosen career for example software development is a big industry, Networking is a big industry and IT security is equally a big industry.
