My experience at the University of Calabar has been quite enriching. The academic programme is well-structured and the lecturers are knowledgeable and passionate about their fields. I particularly appreciate the critical thinking and research skills I’ve developed during my time here.

However, like many public institutions in Nigeria, the university faces challenges such as occasional delays in academic calendars, limited access to updated learning resources, and overcrowded classrooms. Despite these, the environment encourages personal growth, resilience, and independence.

One thing I really liked was the diversity of students, which created a rich cultural and social atmosphere. I also found some of the student associations and extracurricular activities very engaging and helpful for networking.

I would recommend the University of Calabar to anyone looking for good education with a realistic view of the Nigerian university system, but student should be ready to face the stress and the school demands on student especially on the financial aspect and also the stress that some lecturers put on the student. I hope that, with continued investment and improvements, it has the potential to be even better.
